Add On Questions

Hey All,

I currently own a 100 point Feb UY at SSR. I'd like to do a small add on of 50-60 points.

I'm trying to be patient and wait for a resale, but am not having any luck even though I'm on the email list for all the major resale companies.

My question is if I buy direct from Disney, with a Feb UY, would I just get the 2009 points, or would I get more than that? I've heard others saying they would get points from the previous UY, but I don't think that would apply to me since I have a Feb UY.

I know direct through Disney will cost me a little more, but I haven't seen many small point contracts on resale and it seems there are not many Feb UY out there at all.

Yes, you wouldn't get 2008 points because of your use year, unless your guide can work some magic for you. For SSR, I'd recommend waiting out the resale lists, unless you really want the points NOW - in which case call your guide and see if anything can be done re: 2008 points.

We just added on 50 at AKV, and the 2008 points were a huge factor in going direct - I had a cash reservation for August, and so being able to use those points instead essentially brought my buy-in cost below resale levels.

We added on twice at VWL direct from DVC. When you add-on from DVC, there are no closing costs. That made it more economical for us.
