The whole add on thing makes my head spin!

Let me lay my DVC life out for you. We own 70 pts, February use year, at OKW which we use every other year for at least 1 week in a studio. The other ~ every other year ~ we stay at our Sheratan Vistana Resort timeshare. We would like to purchase a modest add on at a different resort, but am unsure what use year to purchase.

If you do the add-on direct from Disney, they will only sell you the same UY that you already have. To get a different UY, you'd have to purchase a contract resale or a new master contract from Disney at the current new member minimum.

there are some threads around talking about different use years. If you have different use years, you will be keeping track of 2 different use years, 2 banking deadlines, etc.

if you want to avoid that, and have the same use years. If you buy resale and the same use year, you can title things so they will be under the same master contract. Otherwise you end up w/ 2 member numbers too.

If you wanted to switch to a diff us year. Do you travel at a certain time of year. People recommend you pick a use year where you travel in the first couple months. Allows you the most flexibility if plans change and you can rebook, bank, etc.
