We currently have 150 points at the WLV, and are in the process of adding on. We received the paperwork today to add on 60 more points at our home. What are your suggestions as far as adding on 60 points to our home, or getting points at the BCV?

If you bank, use and borrow, the most BCV points you would have at any one time would be 180. Will that be enough to do what you want if you have to make your reservation more than 7 months out? We bought 100 points with the plan of using about 250-275 for a week at Christmas, Thanksgiving, etc in a one bedroom.

We just added on w/50 at WLV. I am not sure if this will be enough-- but it never seems to be enough for me! I would love 500 points!
I understand the bank borrow aspect of the add-on points and I think that will work. I added on because I wanted to take a cruiseDCL and saw what it would cost me. I figured instead of paying for the cruise I would buy points and use them towards the cruise and then have the benefit of future points. Now with BCV opening I am considering adding on again-- but I wonder if that would be too diversified SINCE MY "HOME" is BV.
Is there a minimum to add-on at BCV? I thought I read on the DVC websit that add-ons started at $75/point at around $1800. That is about 25 points or so.
What do you know?
Thanks for always being on top of things out there.

I'm in a similar boat -- I have 170 VWL pts. and am thinking about adding on.... the thought of having to keep track of different "home" points makes my head spin already.

Are they still selling VWL points??? If they are, and you buy them, do they go with your current "use" year or do you have to figure that out also?

If no VWL points are left, can you group your use year together?

Thanks for input/advice:D

We just made our 2nd small add-on at VWL as opposed to a BCV add-on. We too own the bulk of our points at BWV. DH initially ONLY wanted BWV so we added on twice there, till they sold out. Once we stayed at VWL, DH loved it SO much he said to add on there. Now while we were debating BCV or more at WVL, the clock is ticking, with prices going up, and in our last month for banking. SO..........we opted for VWL. And as someone else mentioned, keeping track of the use years is going to make me crazy. Even though all the use years are the same, some points can be used early and some cannot. Therefore, you may think you have enough points for a ressie but then you forget that part of those points belong to a different resort and therefore you must wait till the 7 month window to allocate those points. If not, then you have to borrow and hope you don't lose site of ALL those points. With banking and borrowing we will be able to stay at VWL for 10 days every other year or 5 nights every year. Adding BCV to the mix didn't make sense for us as BWV was just across the way and it's the same, location wise for us. Good luck deciding.

LoveRafiki, when you add on at your home resort, they will make it the same use year if they are available. We just added on and our current use year was Dec, but that was sold out so we added on with a Feb use year.

Hi everyone,

Only last week we had the same dilema in this household, we liked the look of the BCV and thought about adding on 30 points there, but our home is VWL and we are happy with it! after all it is the smallest resort and therefore the hardest to book in theory.

The deceiding factor for us was that if we added the 30 points to our VWL with our Aug use year, we would get 30 for 2001 and a further 30 in August 2002.

So we contacted our guided and the papers are on the way.

Started with 222 in 2001, and now 280 and still working on her in door's.
