Add On- New UY: Account ?

I have a 50 pt contract with a DEC UY and just closed on a 25 pt contract with a OCT UY at the same DVC home resort.

I see on my DVC account the "Add New Membership Number" page.

It says I only need an activation code and club id.

Will I be able to use my one account for both UY?

If so, what are some negative experiences I need to look out for while on both memberships?

They will both show up under one online account.

A new UY means it is NOT an add-on. It is a new membership that cannot easily be combined with the first membership contract.

The online account will show both. The first contract you owned will be first and then the second one will be there.

You have to toggle between the two to use them. As already mentioned, you will not be able to use the points together to book a single reservation without transferring points. And, when doing that, you have to plan carefully because points that have been banked can not be transferred and once you transfer the points, you can not borrow them for trips.

But you will easily be able to use your one DVC login to see and use both on their own.

My memebrships show up in numerical order, not in the order we purchased them. Our first membership (direct AUG UY) starts with xx84 and our second membership (resale DEC UY) starts with xx80 and the resale is listed first. It’s a little irritating because our resale contract was stripped and it shows 0 points for 2020 and 2021!

Though both use years will show in the same online account, you need to view yourself now as two separate members. The points from one use year cannot be mixed with the points from another use year when making a reservation. You either have to transfer points from one use year to another to do that, or make two separate reservations, one for the beginning of your trip using one use year and one for the remainder of your trip using the other, and each of those reservations has a different 11 (or 7) month out date. If you use the two-separate-reservation route, you need to contact MS at some point before going and have it link the two reservations to avoid having to change rooms.

Each use year has its separate banking deadline, and dues are billed and paid separately on each. A possible benefit to two use years is that each can be used to purchase the limit of one-time-use-points you can buy for a trip and thus you can actually buy double the allowed OTU points for a single trip when making two separate reservations for the trip.

Mine are by when I purchased. But they also line up numerically too!
