Add-On From Disney - Can I switch UY??

I am currently wait-listed for the 25-35 point add on that I want at BWV - there are points available, but not my UY.

The thing is, I really don't like my UY and would PREFER to add on another UY, but my guide told me that they don't do that b/c it would be more difficult for me to manage. Obviously, I don't mind the "hassle" and if I bought a resale could have 2 different UY, so it isn't a computer issue. So, I don't really want to SWITCH my initial UY, just add on in a different UY.

Is that a steadfast RULE, or a recommendation that I can persuade them to allow me to not follow? Does anyone have any experience with this? Thanks!

I think the only way you can get a different use year is to buy a new contract with a different use year. This would mean you would have to buy the minimum number of points for a new purchase which I think is 120 or 150 points. Add ons have always had the same UY as your original contract.

I know I was not allowed to change UY's until I purchased a new 150 point contract. I have 2 UY's purchased from DVC.

Resale will be your only avenue for a UY change that does not require 150 point purchase.
