Add on, borrowing & banking...

We'll we're new DVC members, but yet here I am wanting an add on! We're short 25 points to be able to plan our next use year the way I really wnat to plan. (Use year is December, we used the MB option.) I don't think I can even talk hubby into adding on just yet, I just talked him into DVC for goodness sake, so I'm wondering...
If I borrow 25 points from the following use year so I can book at the 7th month window, but then come early 2004 add on 25 points, I'll have an additional 25 points in our account since I had borrowd to be able to make taht ressie.
Since I had borrowed those 25 points I now can't bank those new 25 points from the add on into the following use year, can I?
I'm so confused...

Yes, you could bank those points. If you borrowed 25 from your December 2004 allocation. That would leave you with 125 points on December 1,2004. However if you were able to purchase 25 add-on points in let's say January 2004 (that is assuming that there are add-on points available at BCV for December use year) those points would be for your December 2003 use year. You would be able to bank all 25 points into Dec. 2004 up until May 31, 2004. Then on Dec. 1, 2004 you would have 150 points available, 125 regular points and 25 banked points. Make sense?

So, I can borrow 25 from December 2004 use year to use next month to make a June 2004 ressie that is within my December 2003 use year,
then buy 25 points if available next January 2004 of which those poinst woudl go into my Decmeber 2003 use year,
and finally bank thsoe new 25 add on points into the December 2004 use year allotement?
My concern was if I could borrow 25 points from December 2004 use year, but then bank 25 poinst back into that sue year after the add on?

Yes. We did exactly the same thing a few years ago when we purchased. We originally bought 150 pts. at BWV in April of 1999 while at WDW on vacation. We used Magical Beginnings and received a December use year. The contract was dated back to December 1998. We sold those points back to Disney making our first points available on Dec. 1, 1999. We wanted to stay in a 1-bedroom in April of 2000 so borrowed all of Dec. 2000 pts. to make that reservation. While on the vacation in April 2000 DH and I discussed what we wanted from our vacations. Every year in a studio or every other year in a 1-bedroom for 10-12 days. It took us all of about 30 seconds to both agree to buy another 150 points so that we could vacation every year for 10-12 days in a 1-bedroom. So we paid a visit to our guide while on that trip and purchased 150 more points. These were dated back to December, 1999 and we opted not to sell those first 150 points back to Disney but to bank them into Dec. 2000, giving us 300 points on Dec. 1, 2000, and 300 points each year thereafter. Sorry is this seems to ramble but thought I would spell out our exact situation.

WDWfantasy is correct. You can not bank points that are already borrowed, but these will be new points with a December '03 use year.

Lets see, senerio:

12/2003 get 150 pts
borrow 25 from 12/2004 to make 2003 ressie
early 2004 do an add on 25 pts then bank into 12/2004 UY


12/2003
150 + 25 (borrowed pts from 12/2004) = 175 for 2003 ressie

12/2004
175 (original 150 + 25 add on) - 25 (borrowed from 12/2004 for 2003 ressie) + 25 (add on done early 2004 and banked into 12/2004) = 175 for use year 12/1/2004 - 11/30/2004.

Did I get this right?

Borrowed 38 points from '04 in January for this Aug. trip.
Did 40 point add-on at the end of April - had to wait till closing went through.
Just banked 40 ('03) points to '04 - so we have 227 points. Basically we replaced the borrowed points, plus 2!
