add on at CR or AKL

I will add on at CR is there is a MK view booking option. The idea of staying there in December and being able to see the xmas party's fireworks from my room is too good to pass up. As for AKL, I'll pass. I stayed there last year and it just wasn't my type of resort. It was too dark and I like to take long walks outside the resort and with the savannahs that is just not possible.

I voted no way. My favorite park is Epcot and we own at the BW. If we added on, we would buy more points at the BW or OKW. We really enjoyed staying at OKW last month. The AKL seems so far away from everything. And I'm not into high rise hotels so I don't think I'd like CRV.

I'd either go with AKV or remain with my points at SSR and OKW. The CRV just doesnt really appeal to me.

First thing, I have seen anything about VAKL.....pics, decription, views, location, etc.

VCR I do like the pictures that have been circulating here at the DIS.

I'm not sure I see where the 11 month window would be a must have for booking at either of the resorts. BCV and BWV have the F&W festival in the fall. VB and HH have the summer at the ocean priorty. VWL has the Christmas season window. Unless someone can show me a reason to add-on, I'll juat make my 7 month reservation with my other points.

I can still be swayed to add-on, but need more details first.

I voted for neither...but if the do a DL DVC (especially one at the Grand Californian) I'd sell one of the kids to add on there!

I don't have any kids to sell ... but I'd definately want to find some way to get it!!

I am surprised at the lack of response to the this poll and the basic even split on CRV and VAKL . Considering all the "hysteria" over CRV I figured it would have TONS of voters... maybe when it comes to putting down cash folks aren't as excited as they thought they would be.

I voted VAKL. For the simple reason, I believe the CRV would be a lot bigger than VAKL. Probably a lot easier to get a reservation at than VAKL.

However, the reality of it for us, would be to buy a 100 point add on at OKW. It would be cheaper and I would take my chances at booking 7 months out. I like to skip around and try all resorts. I do have favorites, but I like to change it up a bit. I don't travel during DVC'ers "choice times" and I have been lucky to get what I want when I wanted it.

That being said, I plan to buy a 100+pt add-on at OKW next year.

I'd do both. I would like to add 100 points anyway--now that the kids are biggger there just isn't that much room in a studio so I'd like the option of two full weeks in a 1 br with another 1 br for 5 days. THe extra 100 would make that possible. I'd split it 50 for each of the new resorts should they happen.

lots of people don't like the Tower.... I don't but since mother loves this place - I think I might have to do an add on...

I really think both places will be big. Look at BCV - they could have made it twice the size and since sold out quick.

the entire 5th floor at AKL is big. although some people like the lower floors better. you are closer to the animals.

remember once these DVC resorts open you can't use your points anymore at the resort part.

I'd add on at VAKL because I love the theming of this resort. I'm not too hot on the location (I love the convenience of being able to walk to/from Epcot), but the theming of the resort seals the deal for me. I'm not at all interested in CRV.

Since I just purchased, I voted none, but in the future, if I could see us using more points, I would probably go AKL.

I would definitely add on at AKL but only enough to ensure a visit once a year. I love the theme and myDS would enjoy the animals.

On a previous thread it mentioned buying the minimum (25?)and then transfer points in from another contract. What is that all about? It sounds like a loophole that Disney would try to close.
