add on at CR or AKL

Prior to becoming DVC members, we alternated our stays between AKL and YC. So if there are savannah view villas at VAKL then I will buy points there to get the 11-month booking advantage. If VAKL does not have any savannah view villas, then I won't add on there but will just try to book there at the 7-month window.

I am not interested in owning at, or even staying at, CRV. Staying at VWL and taking the boat to the MK works just fine for us.

No add on for us. We purchased our points based on what we thought we would need. We did an add-on when we found we didn't have enough, but I think we are fine now. The addition of those two resorts (if either actually materialize) would not matter to us. It's fun to speculate, and we might stay there, but we wouldn't buy there.

For the forseeable future, I can't see us adding on, although we definitely would want to stay at VAK once in a while, for a few nights each year. We travel off-season, with a lot of flexibility, so we'd attempt the 7-month booking first. If that 's a problem, then we'll see.............

AKL (I am going on the assumptions we can gurantee a Savannah view, I will pay extra, if not... I am not sure, but I may add on anyway book at 11 months and pray!)

And like Jim I am actually set for points, but that's what the resale market is for....

If money were no object, heck yeah I'd add-on at both. Probably enough at each for 5 nights in a studio in the low point seasons.

I like the high-rise look and feel of the proposed new DCV and I love the AKL. If I had to choose, it would be tough, but I'd probably lean towards VAKL. However, much of that might depend on the views... I'd like to be able to get guaranteed Savannah and/or MK views...

These are my plans also.

CRV I really have no desire to own at but DBF is jazzed about it so who knows. I may end up with some there, too.

I would definitely add on at the Contemporary. MK is my favorite park, and I would love to be that close (especially with 3 young kids). We also own at BWV, and I think these too locations would be perfect for us.

I would love to add-on at CRV. I have such fond memories of staying at the CR with my family as a child including a last stay there with my grandmother before she succumbed to cancer.

Okay, okay.... I voted that I have enough points and won't be adding on. bpmorley's post inspired that evil thought.

BTW, I'm hoping that CRV will be the new answer when someone asks "Which resort should I stay at with small children who love MK".

I voted for neither...but if the do a DL DVC (especially one at the Grand Californian) I'd sell one of the kids to add on there!

We purchased DVC specifically with room to add-on at a yet-to-be-built resort. Whether we do one or split up between the two will depend on the point spread and design. I don't like the CR as it is and have never had any desire to stay there, but the pictures of the villas look very intriguing.

I know that there were pics of the "proposed" new CRV up on an architecht firm's website, and were quickly removed....I missed them before they gotten taken down. Anyone know where I can see them? Did anyone capture the graphic so it can be posted here?

We had seriously discussed adding on at CRV, if and when it actually happened, because of the convenience of being on the monorail and the closeness to the MK. However, if the design of the building shown here on the Dis is what is really built, we won't add on at CRV. I simply don't want to vacation in a high rise at WDW.

I also doubt that we would add on at AKV. Its a great resort but too far away from the action.

So I voted no way!

We would add on at CR, if given the choice. As much as I like AKL, my husband has been devoted to CR since he was young--so, 'nuff said, that would be where our money would have to go. (But I would make sure some of our points went to staying over at the villas of AKL, you can be darn sure!)
