Lets say you have been waiting for a particular add on for an April use year and it comes through in September or later, are you allowed to bank the points of that year even though it would be after the deadline because you were given the points late?

When you add on, the banking guidelines apply to ALL your point, so if you have 150 now, and add 50 you now have 200, and can bank all 200 at the 6 month point, 100 at the 9 month point and 50 at he 10 month. So if you have used all of your current points you would have until the 10 month point to bank all 50 of the add on. Hope this helps.

If you can't bank the new points, either rent them to someone, swap with someone, or 'sell' them back to Disney if they qualify as MB points.

Good luck with the add on.

I am sorry if my post was confusing. What I was asking is what if you do not get your 2004 points because your add on did not come through until the 6 month mark is over?

Bill is correct. Even if the add-on is at a different resort. I know, because I just added on 150 BWV points (through the DVC waitlist) to my 275 VWL contract. I have a Feb use year, so my 100% banking window ended July 31st. I was able to bank all 150 of the BWV points, because it's less than 50% of my annual allocation, which the deadline for me would be October 31st.

I am sorry what I am asking is because I am on a waitlist for April use year OKWadd on points. There are none available now. What happens if they become available in say October after the 6 month deadline is up do I lose some of my 2004 points even though I did not have them until October?

Your six month deadline would be December 31st, since you have an April Use year. And if you didn't get the points until after December, you could still bank 25% of your total points by January 31st. If by some chance the points became available after January 31st, yes, you would have to use them or use them before they expired by March 31st. There is no exceptions for add-ons as to banking deadlines.

The 100% window is Sept 30 and the 50% window is 31 Dec. It's certainly true that the percentages are based on the total of all your points including the add on but also true that any previously banked points count toward the totals. So whether you'll be able to bank them depends on how many points you have, how many you add on, how many you may have previously banked and when you get them. Prior to SSR, they wouldn't let you bank until you closed but I hear they've changed that.

Yes, that's true. My add-on through DVC was put in my account on Tuesday, and I was able to bank the 2004 points on Tuesday, no waiting until I closed!

I passed the deadline for 100% banking, but I was told that they still can banked.... all of the points...... because it was a new contract. So if you buy through DVC directly they'll bank it for you even if you're passed the deadline. You do have to tell them when you send in your paperwork/or call once your paperwork is sent. Talk to your guide too, they'll have it all set up for you, that's what Byron did for me.

While they have generally been more flexible on new purchases, others have been denied banking on new purchases.
