Hi all....

I have a ressie at BOG 12/30 for 2! YAY!... :p
BUT, my grandma might be joining us, so I might need to call and add a person to the ADR - do you think that will be a problem? Since she is 80-years old and is not able to walk very far, she'll be in a wheelchair - will that make a problem too??

I know I can just call and ask - but have been calling Disney both yesterday and today and since my grandma hasn't decided yet, I thought I'd just check it with you DIS'ers.... ;)

Any experiences with adding a person? Problems?

Thanks a lot! Really appriciate all your help here on the boards :D

Adding a person is always more tricky than subtracting a person.

The max amount of people allowed in the restaurant (which turns into the max allowed at the tables (plus staff, and all that)) is guided by fire codes as well as server availability and kitchen staffing. If the restaurant is full according to the fire codes, then there's a very good chance that the extra will be turned away.

However, it is pretty rare, and more commonly you may have to wait extra, but due to the popularity of this place and it's fresh new appeal, I certainly wouldn't count it out. They're likely to be staffed to the hilt for awhile, which leaves the table availability and fire codes to be the key limits.

If I were in your shoes, I'd keep checking for an ADR of 3 or 4 to replace your current one. If you show up with 2 for an ADR of 3 (or 4), not a big deal (unless it's prepaid, which BoG is not). If you show up with 3 for an ADR of 2, as mentioned, it could be tricky.

Thanks! That was somehow what I thought....
I'll keep checking online - and if my grandmother decides to join us, I'll go ahead and try calling Disney Dining, they may be able to help :D the thing that might help, or maybe not :p, is that my grandmom ususlly stay in her wheelchair when eating at a restaurent so we won't need an extra chair!... Haha... But yeah, since it's crazy with ADR's for BOG it might be a problem adding another guest!

It won't help that she doesn't need an extra chair as she still needs a spot. Actually, depending on how the seating is set up, how large the chair is, and how much it sticks out from the table, it may make it more difficult because they will have to keep walkways clear for fire code and for the server's safety.
