So there isn't seem to be a way to add a person? Of course trying to make a new res shows o availability for a party of 5...

But if I call would they be able to do it without a cancel and rebook?

We have be more person potentially coming with us. I was able to make a new resort reservation without dropping the other one just now and trying to see what I can do about dining. Ideally it was just adding a person to the existing but doesn't seem to be possible.

TIA.

I've always been told you can't modify the ADR up or down and it must be canceled and rebooked if the new number is available.

Last year of our 7 ADRs 6 I was able to cancel and rebook at close to the same time but I couldn't at CRT so we kept our original and met up with grandma and grandpa afterwards. I did all this over the phone so I didn't loose any of my ADRs if they couldn't find a reasonable time for our new party number.

Unfortunately, when you are adding a person to your dining reservations you have to make a new reservation. If you call the dining line the CM would search to see if there is an opening for your new party size. If there is, the CM would book the new res and cancel your old one. You can do the same yourself online because you can see the same availability.

In your case going from 4 to 5 requires a larger sized table. The Disney computer system has a quirk that makes it harder for odd numbered groups to get a reservation so if you can't find anything for 5, try adding 1 and looking for a party of 6. If the restaurant requires a credit card guarantee, you will not be charged for the "missing" person as long as at least 1 person shows up for the reservation.

Everyone in your group who will be at the table needs to be included so if you leave the reservation at 4 people there is a slight risk of 1 person not being seated because of fire and safety code regulations or the restaurant being so busy, they won't seat extra people.

If you are reducing the number of people on a res you could call and the CM can usually modify the res without cancelling it.
