Add a night at a value?

I have a 4 night trip booked, staying at AKL. I live in kind of a backwater small city (3 flights a day), so I don't have a lot of flexibility in terms of travel. I was thinking, "Hmmmm, I bet if we took the late flight the day before, we could stay at the airport hotel and get an early start in the morning." Then, I thought, "Well, why not just go to a value for the night, let Disney handle the bags, and spend all day in the parks?"

So, the 1 night at the value will be RO, no tickets attached, etc. If I do online check in at AKL before I leave home, I assume my tickets will be good to go, my magic band functional, and DDP credits ready to cash in?

Sound like a good idea to y'all?

We do it often. Well, except we don't book packages. So no worries about tickets or dining plans. But we do come in late at night at times and book a night at a value and then let Disney move us the next morning. Super easy. We get up, drop bags, head to the park and by the time we are ready to leave the park and head to our resort, the bags have arrived. It does take all day to move the bags

Doing that exact thing for my trip in July. I've come to hate flying early morning to Disney, I just feel sick, miserable and cranky no matter how excited I am. Plus there's so much less stress flying in the night before because there's no fear of missing a fastpass or a dinner reservation. We rent a car so moving ourselves is painless but from what I've heard it's just as easy to do with Disney!

Sounds like an A+ plan to me :)
