For all you international travelers, I need to buy a adapter for Europe.

I don't know that I need a converter as well, but I may since I want take my curling iron. The only other thing I will be plugging in is my cellphone and laptop, but I think those have converters on their chargers.

I am going to Amsterdam on Thursday, but I also need one that will work for France, Italy, the UK and Denmark.

I have purchased two from Brookstone (all-in-one types) and they didn't work. I couldn't even get one to plug in!

What do you use and do you like it?

Your curling iron may or may not be dual voltage, but it sounds like you know about that issue.

I was just in Amsterdam. Depending on where you are staying, many of the larger international hotels will have at least one outlet that accommodates US plugs. There's often one in the bathroom for razors, i assume it would work for a curling iron. Check your hotel's website or email the concierge to inquire. (I'm female but don't use any electric hair gizmos when traveling)

I do bring adaptors for other stuff. I just went to Best Buy in the computer section they had several adapter sets/kits. I think the one i have is "world Power traveler" or something like that, lol, by Targus. Works great, but in some countries the adaptors have to be used plugged one into another to get to the one you need. They're designed to work that way.

I don't think the razor plug in the bathrooms has enough juice to heat my curling iron. I use a converter/adaptor if I'm going to plug in via the bathrooms but I don't use the razor outlet. Sometimes the desk areas have an outlet that works without needing a converter.

I got my adaptors and converter at Radio Shack. I got an adaptor set that has multiple pieces. I just toss them plus the converter in a baggie and I always carry them.

We got ours at Target. it came in a small box and included everything we needed. It worked in Israel and Italy. It wasn't too expensive, either.

The Shack has a unit that was about $30, but it was all in one for every style plug in just about every foreign country. Worked very well in Germany and England.

+1 on Radio Shack. For some devices, like my cellphone, I just charge them off of USB from my laptop.
