Ok so in an attempt to keep my mind off of exactly when i'm getting married i decided to look around and try to find EXACTLY what i want my hair to look like.

I love the vintage pin up hair and i've always wanted to do my hair like that. So here was my original inspiration

i dont know if any of you have seen these pictures of christina but i LOVE them! I just didn't think it was wedding-ish but i wanted to find something like it.

This is what i found and I am in LOVE!

Obviously i wouldn't have a red flower in my hair, i'd want a white one. But what do you girls think? Wedding-ish with a vintage flair right? Do you think it will look good with my dress?

Thanks Adelia! I'm glad everyone thinks it'll go nice with my dress! A friend of mine said it wouldn't go because my dress is too contemporary for the vintage hair. It kinda bummed me out and got me second guessing myself, but thankfully I have my DIS girls to get me back 100% on board with the hairstyle I want!

So Adam and I were discussing wedding dates AGAIN! Its getting really crazy but anyway here is what we came up with. Since my boss is being a "time off nazi" and won't allow for either weekend we wanted in September we came up with another solution.... 10/2/2010. Before I explain just know that there are a couple flaws with this plan that i need help on.

Here is the timeline:

We'd leave for the world either the thursday 9/30 or friday 10/1 before the wedding, have the wedding that Saturday, Hang out with the family on Sunday, and officially start our honeymoon that Monday (10/4) We'd return home the following Friday (10/8). Alright so here is where things might get alittle tricky, let me know if you think this is do-able.... The friday we get back will be the beginning of columbus day weekend. Instead of having the party that saturday we have it on Sunday (10/10/2010 cool date huh?) Do you think that we'll be able to pull off the party with only one day in between?
The other flaw with this plan is that my lovely aunt-flo will be visiting the day of the wedding. Her visit will be over by the Monday of the honeymoon but i'd really love for her to take a hike entirely. I'm actually going in for a physical on Friday and i'm going to talk to the Nurse Practitioner who does my lovely women exam about it but does anyone have any advice on this little dilemma?

I'm crossing my fingers that this all works out, but before i start emailing people again i'm going to do my research and make sure 100% that this is what will work for us.... so TIA for any help/advice!

About AF on your wedding day-
are you on the pill? you can alter it so that you just don't have a period that month. Or switch to the every three months pill.
If you start with the three month pill now, it will have time to regulate so you don't have breakthru bleeding and spotting.
If you don't want to do that, and are on the regular pills- you just don't take the week pills that would cause you to start. Instead, you toss the old pills and start a new pack. Same theory as the every three month thing. Try it next month.

As far as Aunt Flo, I was thinking about asking the NP to give me the seasonal pills. I'm just so nervouse about it, i'm going to do some research today since i don't know much about it. I used the pill for a very long time and then i got a new MD who decided to give me the Depo shot... i gained 20 lbs! I also didn't like that i didn't get aunt flo for over a year.... i don't mind a visit every now and then. I'm just scared of gainning all that weight again... i'm finally back to where i was. Thanks for the Advice JO!

Okay- leave it to me to find a positive spin on the weight gain--

If you gain weight, then you won't have to have the dress altered.
You'll have an intact dress without worrrying if the seamstress knows what she is doing.

Thats such a cool birthday to have! I'm wierd with dates so getting married on 10/2/2010 for whatever reason is great becase there are two "10"s in the date and 10/10/2010 is just well cool... idk maybe i think its lucky or something.

I was thinking the same thing Mandy! I could enlist my sisters and aunts to come and help us. I can even give my sister a list of things to do while she watching my puppies and the house. I'm starting to get that "everything is going to be alright" feeling and the Bob Marley song is playing in my head... this is good!

I think this could defiantly be it. I emailed Randy (poor guy i must have apologized 100 times for all the date issues ) to find out if he's available for the second of october. If he isn't we're just going to stick with the date we originally had.

i definatly think we can do it! I mean i'm a psychotic OCD planner... i think i can handle it!

Mandy's Idea does sound good!! I brought it up to DF and he still thinks he'll be fine cooking with his dad and mine but i don't think he understands that not only will he need to cook but um HELLOOOOOO?? You're the GROOM! I think it's his way of hiding from the families!

I'm going to quietly do some research on it though and keep it under my hat just in case.
