Ahhh color overload is tough huh! I can relate on that one too lol! I want bright colors and loveee fuchsia so thats a given. I also like Orange (actually my MOH is calling it "Mango" ) and turquoise. So I just decided to go with those 3 but I keep going back and forth with the turquoise. This is not easy I hear ya Katie! That t shirt is priceless by the way! Where on earth did you ind it, because I am soooo getting one lol!

Thanks to Mandy I got to see what it will look like and then did some more research and found some really pretty weddings. I figure since its an escape wedding i should have as much fun with color as i can! I'm thinking turquoise BM dresses with a chocolate sash around them and pink bouquets! I think i'll pay the money and get pink rose petals to put down the aisle and have guests throw. What do you think??

When should we send out STD's? I keep going back and forth about whether or not to send them now or 8 months out when we have the exact date booked. Sometimes i think now would be good because that gives guests a year and a half to start saving/making arrangements, it also give certain guest ::cough:: FMIL and DM ::cough:: another wake up call that this IS happening! ( had another issue with FMIL i'll explain later ) I figured if we did it now we could put in there alittle letter stating that we understand not everyone can go blah blah blah and just know the date/location may change blah blah blah. This will also give us a number to work with. If we wait the 8 months out we could verbally tell people to start making arrangements but i'm afraid those certain guest are still going to think we aren't seriouse about our disney wedding. It would however save alot of explaining because by 8 months out we'll know for sure of our date/location/time. Any Advice on this ladies?? Anyone willing to share their STD's??

Oh and I kind of had an impulse buy (which never happens with me) and I bought a WII and WII Fit! I've had it for two days and OMG am i sore. I knew i was outta shape but this is just insane! I've done and hour on it each day and i'm going to try and do an hour a day and loose some of this weight... i wanna look the best i can in that wedding dress! And considering how much i spent on everything I better come out looking like giselle!

I would send them out before the DFTW STD's go out, just so people can sort of expect it (if that makes sense). I just did a lot of guessing on my STD's that I made (very cheap to do btw, I just used Word and made the colors a bit different) I have it somewhere in my PJ, but if you want to PM me your email address I can just send you the word doc that I used and you can see the verbage.

I basically said

"Yes, we are getting married at WDW"

"This is why, so stop bugging us"

and finally "Here are the plans as of now, but formal STD to follow"

It actually worked out really well for us, and I even asked for a tentative RSVP so I was prepared to do my room block when the time came. It worked really well. I also bought some regular envelopes, made some Mickey-fetti an put a "Caution May Contain Pixie Dust" label with tink on the back! (And man oh man did it cut down on silly questions lol!) It also got a lot fo people talkign about it and we have over 150 coming in feb! So I highly recommend doing STD's before DFTW's. Let me know if you need any help girl!

Oh and i'm glad you like the colors! I'm really excited about it because with doing a fall wedding in New England you limited to fall colors, the reds, golds, browns, and i've always wanted bright bold colors for my wedding but they're kind of summer colors. But it always summer in Florida! I can't wait to start BM dress shopping! I think i'm more excited then my sisters.

i would definately go with sending out early save the dates with a small explination of this is what we are holding right now but it may change but hopefully not drastically blah blah blah

there was someone on here who did a std that had mickey and minnie and 2009/2010 calendar ( i cant remember what year they were getting married)
and they circled the entire month that they planned on getting married and basically said TBA sometime in XX month
..BUT it came out SOOOOO good..if i find it ill link it

I saw that STD and I was thinking of doing something exactly like that. My boss thought it was a good idea too. Just to give people a heads up and let them know to start getting stuff prepared.

Although DF's mother is not being supportive at all. I was on facebook the other day when FBIL's girlfriend (that i'm also friendly with) came on and asked me if the wedding was still in florida. I told her yes and asked her why she would think it had changed. She told me FMIL told FBIL that she looked at plane tickets and she simply could NOT afford the plane tickets let alone the hotel so that either the wedding would not be in florida or they weren't going. Well i found this all very interesting and got pretty upset and let me explain why....

1.) this women has never left the north east and has never been on a plane so i'd LOVE to know where she got her flight information.

2.) i know this is none of my buisness but FMIL and FFIL just paid off FSIL car payments when she just decided to stop paying them and FFIL's credit was at stake AND they just gave the other FBIL 7G's towards a new car. DF has NEVER and i mean NEVER asked his parents for money yet they can't even come down for his wedding.

oh and

3.) they own their house outright... yup thats right no mortgage

alright i'm done venting DF and I decided we're just sending out the STD's and letting them handle it from there. Neither one of us can be bothered with their crap right now.

I just got all giddy because I emailed Misty and Randy to get their package pricing! I think i'm giddy about it because i've seen all of their great pictures that they've done for other disney brides and now I could be one too!!!

Hey Katie! Just checking in again! I LOVE the colors you picked! I am also into bright colors... we are doing fuschia and "kiwi" with accents of orange and turquoise! It's Florida and DISNEY so I feel like it needs to be tropical and FUN! I also think you should send out a "pre-STD". We were getting tons of questions about what our plans were so we just sent out just a simple card that I made with a photopass picture we had of us in front of the castle. Inside I just wrote a little blurb that we were getting married in Disney in early Dec 2010 and that we couldn't confirm our date til 8 months in advance and that there would be more details to follow- I'll post a pic when I get home. Now I'm working on making a little newsletter with lots of Disney info in it to send out, about 1 year out. Then when we confirm the date I'll send out "official" STD's. And you're correct in that Disney does not send out STD's for Escape brides. Sorry to hear that the FIL's are causing issues just keep I think just sending the pre-STD will be perfect!

As far as the family drama goes... at this point DF and I would be happy if it was just us! So here is what we sent out as our pre-STD's. They took all of 2 seconds to make and everyone raved about them!

Now they've changed it to 8 months out but at the time it was 1 year. Sending them out also really seemed to help settle all the family drama for us. No matter how many times we told people the general plan we kept getting the same questions... "are you really getting married at Disney?" "when is it going to be?" "really disney?"....and no matter how many times we said we were having immediate family only our parents kept unofficially inviting people... "oh I was talking to my second cousin four times removed and she is really excited to come to the wedding!" For some reason after seeing it in writing and the fact that we actually only sent it to our immediate family they finally seemed to accept it and take it seriously! No problems since! I hope it works wonders for you and that your FIL's will just accept it and find a way to deal! Good luck! Can't wait to see how they turn out!

Exactly!! and if they no likey... too bad! DF and I were talking about the guest list and its just going to be immediate family, parents/siblings and possibly a few very close friends, oh and my aunt who is like my mom. Everyone else can just wait until the at home reception that'll be at our house when we get back. The more i think about it who really wants to go to the ceremony anyway? I mean nobody gets a wedding invite and goes, "oh yea a ceremony to go to!" they look forward to the reception party after! So see it as i'm doing a good deed!......

Thanks Adelia! My sister is going to come over next weekend for a sleep over since DF is going to visit his friend for the weekend and i think we're going to make the STD's together that night. I love that shes 17 and i'm almost 23 now but we still have sleep overs!

Good evening ladies!

I'm alittle bored and was searching the internet for wedding ideas and I found some stuff i want your opinions on!

First: my colors.

I was searching for someone who had the turquoise (aqua, whatever) and chocolate with a pink accent and this is what i found.

It is exactly what I was thinking for colors! What do you girls think?

I also found this too and told my sister that i want them at my shower!

Don't they look yummy?!?!

Then i started looking at the flower options for the escape brides. I know you can change colors with out being charged so i picked my two favorite bouquets, the calla lillies one and the bouquet with the stephanotis accents, and looked around for different ideas. (some od these are from the DIS so thanks girls!)

I'm sure i'd have to pay extra for the roses but i liked this calla lilly bouquet just change the roses to hot pink!

I dont know why I like the stephanotis but i do... and i think this is lovely just with hot pink roses... just like this!

I saw a few othe bouquets that i really liked but i forgot to save them. If i find them again i'll post them on here later!

Oh and one more thing.... The girls at work begged me to bring in my wedding gown so i could show them what it looks like on me. So i did. Here is the only decent picture we got... please excuse the hospital bed and sharps container.

I know its only the back but the pictures of the front didn't do it justice as it isn't fitted to my chest... i look like i have invisible F ****s or something..... theres nothing filling that space but with the boning in the dress it just stays up that way! But the back looks very nice so i thought i'd give you girls a preview!
