Hello eveyone!
I was wondering how much they over estimate costs on the DFTW web site. I was told from a CM at Frank's that they over estimate the cost on there. If anyone has had a wedding and then plugged it into the web site did you prices vary?

Thank a bunch!

I'm not really sure as the DFTW website "estimator" really is set up for custom weddings where there is a minimum you have to spend. I don't think there's any exaggeration or over estimation because of that minimum. The variations apply when you choose something different from the standard offerings. In my experience, Disney is a bit expensive on some things.

That being said, I'm having an Intimate wedding so the prices don't really apply to me...but I don't think they would over estimate the prices since they want custom brides to meet their minimum and I don't think they'd want you to be faced with an unpleasant surprise (that you need to spend more money) too close to your wedding.

I hope that helps...I know there are others here who can probably give you a more definite answer.

Well, looking it over, it seems the areas in which the wishbook can be very far off from what you spend is food & beverage, transportation, and floral. F&B because there are just so many options for menus and bars, and you can really customize it. Same reasons for floral, please don't assume that just because they list those options in the wishbook means they are the only floral options Disney has. Disney can do anything you like as far as floral goes. And transportation because depending on the size and needs of your group it can get pretty complex. Also the wishbook doesn't have anything about Illuminations dessert parties, which are very popular. Those start at about roughly $500 and go up depending on the size of your group.

HTH!

I played around with the wishbook, and I agree with Firefly Girl. The floral items in the wishbook are much more than we paid, even for similar types of floral items. For instance, we had the floral table centerpieces on the silver candelabras for $130 for ours, and the wishbook ones are around $300. The main differences are the types of flowers used and how tightly packed the example centerpieces are. Disney can use more greenery to make it less expensive, as well as use less expensive flowers.

I wonder why they didn’t include pricing for Illuminations parties since they are so popular. Hmmm.
