Hi everyone!!

We are planning to get married on 10/13/07 at the Wedding Pavilion. Just thought it would be helpful to those of us in the planning stages if we could get an idea on what activities you planned other than your wedding... Rehersal dinner, welcome party, tea party, post-wedding brunch?? :confused3

I'm just trying to figure out how we should go about planning the weekend, and work these things into our budget. Any ideas you have would be so greatly appreciated! :worship:

Thank you!!
:thanks:

Hello! October is the perfect time for a wedding ;)

We had an Intimate, so there wasn't a real "rehearsal" but we did do a run-through on WL Sunrise Terrace the night before, just so folks knew where to be and when. We had a rehearsal dinner at Artist Pointe at WL. I do not know how much that was because my in-laws paid for dinner, but we did get the Disney Dining Experience (DDE) card which gives you a 20% discount at table service restaurants - we have Annual Passes so getting the card saved us a lot of money for the wedding! We kept all planned meals surrounding the wedding at WL because my daddy uses a walker and has trouble getting around. We considered a dinner after the ceremony at the Contemporary but ended up just having a private dinner in our room (so romantic :cloud9: ) and the guests went about their own thing. The day after the ceremony we had a good-bye brunch at Whispering Canyon at WL. It was fun, even my 76 year old Aunt loved it! The servers are hilarious and we actually got called up into a dancing and kissing contest with a newly engaged couple and a couple celebrating their 10-year anniversary - we won :cool1: Then we went with my sister and niece to MK and met up with other friends. That night DH and I had a private dinner in EPCOT and met up with more friends at Pleasure Island later. Everyone left by Saturday and we had our private honeymoon begin!

we had our rehearsal & rehearsal dinner saturday

girls & guys events sunday morning, girls at the gf spa & lunch at crt, guys fishing excursion & lunch at the biergarten

we had a welcome dinner for all our guests sunday evening.

monday was the "park day"

tuesday was the our wedding

We were going to have our rehearsal dinner at Rainforest Cafe. However, we went to the one here the other day, and my baby was scared of the storms and the gorillas:(
We are now considering the safari you can book through grand gatherings. We are also renting a pontoon boat to see the fireworks the night of the wedding after dinner. I was going to rent the yacht, but you cannot see the fireworks from inside, and there is very little room on deck for all our guests.

Good thing you found that out now! I went with my cousins' kids. Their daughter is about 3 and was leery of them too.

Our timetable was this:

Shower (The Attic) - Tuesday lunchtime, most of my guests were American so I couldn't have the shower in the UK - We did not pay for this event, generous friends did

Rehearsal Dinner ('Ohanas) - Wednesday night - for all guests, we paid.

Wedding - Thursday morning

Reception - Thursday lunchtime

Dessert Party - Thursday night

Breakfast - Friday morning - We didn't do a farewell breakfast as such because we knew that a lot of our guests time was limited and so we wanted them to enjoy as much of the parks as possible - so we opted to do a "Dutch" breakfast whereby we told our guests that we planned to take a late breakfast at The Yacht Club Galley the morning after the wedding and if they wanted to join us they were more than welcome to. They all advised me of numbers before the event so that I could make the booking.

Family Dinner - Friday night - We chose to have special time before our Dinner that night - we hired out a Pontoon boat and went for a ride down to MGM and back again with Paul as the Captain LOL then we took them for dinner as another Thank You, for coming all that way from the UK, at The Yachtsman Steakhouse, it was great

Thank you! Sounds like you all had fabulous weddings!! :cool1:

I have a lot to think about!

Thanks for sharing - and for all the ideas!

Here are the events we had surrounding our wedding:

--Thursday: my maid of honor and I went to dinner together at Kona Cafe to enjoy some girl time, then I surprised her with tickets to Mickey's Very Merry Christmas Party, which we had a blast at; during this DH hung out with his friends and played video games in their room, LOL

--Friday: some very generous friends of my mom's hosted our bridesmaids luncheon for us at the Garden View Lounge at the Grand Floridian; I don't know how much this event cost since they paid, but they did rent out the facility, so I'm guessing it was over $1000; we also had a rehearsal dinner at 'Ohana following our rehearsal; everyone loved eating there and enjoyed the laid back atmosphere (plus, the guys were in heaven with all that meat, LOL)

--Saturday: the wedding day!

--Sunday: we surprised my parents with an upgrade from Caribbean Beach to the Wilderness Lodge, but otherwise we were on our own

Saturday- Mini Golf Welcome Party at Winter Summerland which included pizza, cake, beverages & a round of golf.

Sunday - Rehearsal & Family Lunch at Olive Garden

Monday - Morning Wedding, Brunch Reception & Break (naptime for bride), then Illuminations Dessert pary @ Lower UK

We went on an Illuminations cruise the night of our wedding and that was just the perfect way to end the day!

Thank you ladies! :goodvibes

Seems like these really are FAIRY TALE wedding!!

Just curious, do you get to choose when your rehersal is? I am trying to plan around (hopefully) at 7:30pm wedding and wanted to have a rehersal brunch the day before...

Thank you as always!!

We did:

Wednesday - girls / guys night at Pleasure Island

Thursday - Rehearsal dinner

Friday - Wedding

Saturday - Buzz Light Year's Space Ranger Spin 2004 Challenge. of the 76 guests we had at the wedding, over 50 attended this. We gave out prizes to the guests who got the highest and lowest scores. It was an absolute blast. And with 50 people waiting in line together, the 45 minute wait seemed to blow by!

Thursday - Jelly Rolls

Friday - Rehearsal at WP/ RD at Ohana
Bridesmaids & Margaritas after in Francisco's Lounge at Coronado (where we're staying the days leading up to the wedding) I'm doing this in lieu of a bridesmaids luncheon so that they can maximize their park time

Saturday - Wedding

Sunday - Around The World in Epcot - we're meeting in Mexico and eating/drinking our way around the world

This will be followed by karyoke at Kimono's in the Swan - it's not a wedding without a little karyoke!
