We're setting sail on our first cruise, on the Fantasy, in September 2015. I'm trying to plan some fun activities, nursery time and boutique time for our 3 children. I don't know the schedule however. Is there a pirate night? When is it? Other themes? I'd love to coordinate the Bibbidi Bobbidi Boutique appointments with the theme nights. Also, is it best to dine at the adult only restaurant for lunch? If you do dinner there, where do the kids eat? Thanks!!

Adult meals are brunch and dinner only kids at dinner can eat in the club or you can take them to the MDR at 6 pm then take them to the club and eat at Palo later. Now all activities will be shown in the navigator delivered each day. Pirate night depends on the cruise but on an eastern it has been St Marten or the island before St Thomas.

If you opt for dinner at Palo or Remy, you have a few choices for the kids. Room service or quick service locations near the pool. Cabanas is a sit-down for dinner but you can take the kids and have a drink while they eat. Depending on your reservation time and regular dining time, you can take the kids to the MDR and have a drink or something while they eat. Dinner is served at a specific time in the Club/Lab, so you want to check the Navigator to make sure you bring them at the right time if you choose that option.

First, welcome to the boards.

Your cruise will have a pirate night. When it is depends on which itinerary you are sailing. You can find out which night it is a few ways -- look at your reservation on line and under "My Cruise Activities" click "View or Add Activities". This gives you a day by day listing of your cruise. One day in the middle of the cruise should have "Ship Activities" (if you click it, it should confirm it is Pirate Deck Party). Or you can look at past Navigators from cruise with similar itinerary (that may let you know not only which night was Pirate Night but what the other nights themes were). Or you can post back here which itinerary it is and people who have sailed that will let you know.

Now as far as Palo/Remy, both brunch and dinner are good choices. You would have to decide which is more appealing to you and scheduling with your children. As was stated, if you choose to do dinner, you can schedule it to be opposite your dining time so you can bring the kids to dinner then get them settled in the club before going to your reservation. Or you can have room service or quick meals from the pool deck rather than going to the dining room and then you can reserve dinner at a time that may allow you to take the kids to the show (either the early show and you dine late; or dine early so you are out in time to go to the late show).

I am also a DCL Newbie, question about meals, Palo and Remy, (I am also doing Fantasy in Oct 2016) are additional restaurants, so you pay for them or are they included in the cruise fare? Also since my DD will be 13 at the cruise, if we choose can she go eat with friends she makes on the ship or do we have to take her to eat ourselves?

Most meals onboard are included in the cruise fare. That includes the main dining rooms (MDR), Cabanas (buffet-style for breakfast and lunch, casual sit-down dinner), quick service food places near the pool and room service. Palo and Remy are adult-only and do include an "upcharge" for dining there.

Breakfast and lunch are on-your-own schedule-wise -- usually at least one of the MDRs is open as well as the buffet, and maybe the quick service locations. Times for each will be in the daily Navigator you receive each day. You may eat at these locations whenever you wish and with whomever you wish. Every passenger is assigned a dining rotation for dinner -- time, restaurant, table number. While your daughter might be able to join friends in the MDR for dinner, it would probably be easier if they plan to eat at one of the other locations with friends. At 13 she'll be at the Edge, and the kids tend to go to the quick service spots together; though some families do require kids join the family for dinner and then back to the clubs.

you pay extra for palo and remy.

up to you and your comfortability (is that a word??) on how you want your 13 year old to eat. i dont have kids so i cant give an opinion
