Activities in Orlando" arriving morning before cruise

We will be arriving in Orlando by air on Saturday morning 4/17 about 10:00. Our Wonder cruise leaves the following afternoon. We are thinking of renting a car for the day. With two adults and a three year old daughter, what can you recommend we do for fun on Saturday that won't completely wipe us out before we leave on the cruise?

I live outside the orlando area and I would highly recommend going to "Downtown Disney" its a fun place to walk around that has wonderful restaurants (planet Hollywood, Rainforest Cafe , mcdonalds etc) and has a huge disney store!! It also has "Lego Land" that has alot of outside interactive areas!! Perfect for a 3 yr old!! She/he would love it!! You can also take a free boat ride from one side to the other. This is a great place to walk around at your own pace and very kid friendly!! A fun fun place! I hope you enjoy!!!!

A day at Discovery Cove to swim with the dolphins? This is a pricey option ($230 plus tax per person) but is an all day, all inclusive activity. www.discoverycove.com will give you all the info.

Another option would be to do Downtown Disney or do one of the parks. DOwntown Dis with a character dinner at Chef Mickey's (at the contemporary) is always good.

Sea World is another one that you can really do in a day and isn't as tiring as a Disney park.

If it were me, I'd get the car, stop for sundrys and breakfast and head for the port. Or have breakfast in the airport and order a towncar to the port.

Just because the ship doesn't sail before 4 pm doesn't mean there's nothing to do ON BOARD until 4 pm. Think LUNCH and SWIMMING and exploring the ship.

if your staying at the port you can go to the zoo in melbourne about 30 minutes away. Or you can go to cocoa village they have a nice river friiont park to play at with fountains to play in and slides etyc.. plus great shops to walk through

You could go to the cape and see the Space Center.

You could spend a few hours at one of the waterparks. Might completely wipe you out.

We fly in the Saturday before we leave (two days!) and are going to stay at the Raddisson at the Cape. We are hoping to just plop the kids in the pool for the afternoon while we take turns in the pool or sitting nearby with our umbrella drinks.

WIth a 3yo, I'm all for Sea World. It's a fun place, educational and the shows are fun for all ages. Just don't sit in the "Splash Zones". Each show has it's own number of rows as the splash zone. THey have taught the killer wales to really toss the water a long ways now, so the entire lower section has the possibility of getting wet. SW also has a "pet show" with dogs, cats, geese, other birds, a pig. It is a great show.

Downtown Disney is also a good place to visit. You can browse through many shops (the Biggest Disney Store in the WORLD too).

Or heck, go to the Magic Kingdom for the day. You can't do everything so don't try. Enjoy Fantasyland and Mickeys Toontown, ride the train around the park, go on Buzz Lightyear, watch the parade, jungle cruise, country bears, tom sawer island to run around on, the river boat, aladdin's flying camels, the main street vehicles, Swiss family tree house, tiki birds. That sounds like a pretty full day that's not overloaded.

A lot of kids enjoy the monorail around the lagoon or take the one over to Epcot and back.
