We have one day towards the end our trip in January that is flexible and we plan to decide last minute what we want to do with it. We have been saving change for a couple months for a little extra cash and have $95 for two people (young adults) to spend on some extra activities. They can be in a park or out of a park. Can you think of anything to add to our list for something we could use the money for or do for part of that day?

-Typhoon Lagoon if warm
-Mini powerboat rentals if warm
-Mini Golf
-Disney Quest
-DTD shopping/ snacks
-DTD movie
-DTD bowling
-Dessert at Beaches and Cream
-Epcot World Showcase shopping/ snacks
-Extra table service meal somewhere

The characters in flight balloon at downtown Disney !

Afternoon tea at the grand floridian. Unless you are a huge eater, it's substantial enough to substitute for lunch.

If they still offer it, Dine With an Animal Specialist at Sanaa at the Animal Kingdom Lodge. You get a 3-course lunch while talking to an animal keeper there, and then afterwards you get to go outside with him/her and get up close and personal with an animal (we went into the tortoise pen).

One of the behind the scenes tours - I'd recommend Keys to the Kingdom, which is in the Magic Kingdom and includes lunch. I'm not sure how much it costs these days; if it's out of your price range, the Behind the Seeds tour at The Land in Epcot is also fun and is less than $20 per person.

Jellyrolls, the dueling piano bar on the Boardwalk, for evening drinks and songs. There is a small cover charge (maybe $12 per person?).

Take a carriage ride around port orleans riverside.

Resort-hop (free) and use your $95 to buy something small at each resort, like a magnet.

Depending on how much you've been running around the rest of the trip, you might just want to hang at your hotel/resort and swim. DH and I take a "down day" every third or fourth day and just chill out for most of it, and then maybe hit a park in the evening. If you're young adults you're a lot younger than us, though, and may not need to do that! ;)

Hope that helps!

You can visit WDW resorts you haven't seen or spend the $$ hitting the bars in the MK monorail resorts, we've enjoyed doing both.

If you want to give up 3 hours of a MK day i have the BEST idea!! The Marceline to MK tour. OMG so much fun and it's only $30.00 each here's me being lazy and copying the tour information from AllEars.

The new "Walt Disney: Marceline to Magic Kingdom" tour uses the Magic Kingdom as a "walking timeline" to help guests discover how the events in Walt's life helped develop his understanding and view of the world around him. The three-hour tour is available Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays each week, starting at 8:15 a.m. Call 407-WDW-TOUR for prices and to register. Participants must be at least 12 years old. $30 per person.

We got headsets so we could hear the tour guide which was super helpful during our pre-opening private tour of the Haunted Mansion & private "ride" (if you call it that??) of CP. The BEST part of this tour?? We got to stand on the floor of the ballroom scene in the HM!! We learned some amazing things about Walt & his family and several of the rides. We've been on the Keys to teh Kingdom tour before and both agreed this was more fun & informative. Now i'm aware that the HM is undergoing a renovation soon & I'm not sure if it will still be closed while you're there or not so you better take that into account since we did spend close to an hour hearing about the que & ride.

If you want to do something on a day that you're not in the parks I would recommend Mini-golf :thumbsup2 Have a great trip :cool1:

This might help you narrow it down a little. When I'm at WDW, I'm all about "maximizing my Disney time." You mention a movie or bowling as options. It might be just me, but I try spend my WDW time doing things I can't do at home. I like to use my time doing things that are specifically unique to Disney.

That's my same philosophy when I go to places like our state fair - I eat things that are "fair specific" (unique things like an elephant ear or a yummy piroshky) rather than just eat an ordinary hot dog or popcorn. Or this time of year, when going to a holiday party, I will save my calories for holiday-specific food that I really don't have a chance to eat at other times of the year (like my dad's spritz cookies or my mom's special fudge).

Hope this helps!

If you booked a Magic Your Way Package, you should be getting some passes in the mail if you haven't already (sorry, not sure when you said your trip was!). There's things like mini golf and Disney Quest for two people for free. I went to Disney Quest for the first time this past August and had a bunch of fun! The design your own roller coaster was really awesome, as was the virtual paddle boating. Some of the attractions are a little outdated, such as the Aladdin Magic Carpet simulator, but since there's only two of you, you can get in for free with the passes, spend an hour or two playing, and then still have all your extra money to spend on goodies and food in DTD.

Have a super great trip! :goodvibes

So let me see if I have this correct. What you are trying to do is plan an unplanned day. Is that about right?;)

From the ideas you listed above I would recommend the last three. Here is my recommendation for a fun afternoon:

1) Spend the afternoon casually strolling around the Epcot World Showcase, do some shopping in the different pavilions, etc.
2) Make an ADR at a WC restaurant and enjoy a nice dinner
3) Watch Illuminations from France or the UK
4) Exit the park through the International Gateway (between France and UK) and walk over to Beaches & Cream at The Beach Club Resort for dessert
