We are taking a Disney cruise and will have about 5 hours between getting off the boat and needing to be back at the airport. We have never been to Fort Wilderness and were thinking it might be a good place to go (we don't really want to shop at DTD). Are there things to do there? Thinking renting bikes or horse trails, etc? It also seems to be one of the few resorts that has a restaurant (not CS) open at lunch. Would love to hear if you think this is a good or bad idea! Thanks!

If the five hours includes your travel time from the port to WDW, then you really have about four hours by the time you get into FW. It takes about 45-60 minutes to make the trip.

I probably wouldn't do it myself, because I would feel rushed and would be thinking about getting to the airport on time. But you could rent bikes and ride around, then have some lunch and it would be a pleasant way to spend some time. The fort is usually not too busy during the day when people are at the parks.
