Active magic bands question?

We have two magic bands each for upcoming trip. Also one old one in MDE, so 3 total in MDE. (per person)

The first set for upcoming trip we bought from shop Disney and linked to trip - says ACTIVE in MDE.
Second set we bought for $5 in MDE for upcoming trip. Already received and says ACTIVE in MDE.
Old bands say INACTIVE in MDE.

We want to interchange the two we bought when we go in October - is it possible that they both can be active at same time? I thought only one could be active and we had to activate/deactivate depending on which ones we were using?

thanks!

My understanding is that they can all be active, but the more you have, the more glitches you may experience. For example, they may not open the door, etc. So I've read recommendations that we keep only one active at a time.

So each morning we're there, if we choose to wear a different color, we just go in MDE and activate the one we want to wear and deactivate the other?

That generally only applies to people that have a dozen or more active and even then it hasn't been as big of an issue as it used to be.

No. Don't do anything about activating/deactivating each day. Just have them all active and wear whatever one you want that day.

I would then say to lock up the ones you're not wearing in your room safe when you leave. I doubt housekeeping would steal one but I wouldn't tempt anyone by leaving MBs laying around your room. No one can charge purchases without your PIN but they could enter your room as you, not housekeeping, maintenance, etc. I'm sure Disney security can track all of this stuff. If something goes missing, they'd look it up and say no employees entered your room that day. Maybe I'm paranoid but I never leave keys in any hotel room until I'm checked out. MBs, never.
