Activating/deactivating tickets in MDE - using 2 ticket types on one vacation

I'm going to WDW soon! I'm going to use my annual pass until it expires on 5/1, and then I have a park hopper for 5/2-4. Right now both of these are linked to me in MDE.

My question is, how do I make sure that I'm using my AP until it expires, and not accidentally using my park hopper? I saw in MDE there's a way to "deactivate" a ticket when it's not in use. But if I deactivate my park hopper, and reactivate it the day I want to start using it (5/2), will that affect my existing fastpass+ reservations? This deactivation thing makes me nervous.

It looks like this is a simple thing to do, but I want to hear if anyone's done it without incident. Thanks!

It's easier to add "new" people to your MDE list (use your nickname) and "reassign" the parkhopper to the new person. Use the parkhopper at the entrance and FP tapstiles.

But because you've already selected FP, you'll need to have Guest Relations prioritize your ticket usage within your MDE account.

This park hopper can't be reassigned (it's non-transferrable, part of a discounted room/ticket package purchased through runDisney for the race weekend). Yeah, I think I'm going to stop at guest relations before I enter the park on my first day, just to make sure everything's set up right. Thanks for the info!

I have a similar issue with water park tickets. I have old tickets (non-exp) with only WP days left on them, and I have a new ticket (non-exp) with WP days also. I am just going to use the actual ticket to get into the WP instead of my magic band.

That's a good idea -- I do have an actual, plastic annual pass ticket. Perhaps I will use it at the gate to get in, instead of scanning my band. I'm still going to check with guest relations of course (and ask about this scenario when I check in to my resort, too).
