We will be staying at Swan & Dolphin for two nights in mid-November. We just bought Annual Passes and plan on activating them the morning of our first day. We would like to rope drop EPCOT from International Gateway. Are we able to active our AP's from IG or will we need to enter from the main entrance?

Follow up question, does activating your AP first thing in the morning still give us a chance at being at the front of rope drop? No big deal if not, as we can always have a leisurely start to our day. I just want to figure out our plan since we are only there for the weekend and want to maximize our time.

TIA!

You can activate at the GR office just to the left after you clear security at the IG. I know GR opens before park opening, not sure how far in advance, but I'm pretty sure that you'll be able to activate and still be near the front of the pack for rope drop.

Thank you so much!

I would activate them at GS at Epcot or HS the day/night prior so you dont have to do it the day of part entry.

FWIW, when I wanted to get Boo Bash tickets at GS/GR, I had wait pre-turnstile. I was the first one there and so once we could progress, I did that, went to GS, got my ticket, and was still pretty close to the front of the pack that RD (this was at DAK) but the 5 or so minutes definitely held me back slightly. I was slightly disappointed (though obviously it's not a problem) that they couldn't help me take care of my administrative thing before it all opened. YMMV

Does GS close the same time as the parks?

We usually just activate our tickets at one of the ticket booths at one of the parks or at Guest Services at Disney Springs the night before.

I think they are open as long as the park is open.
