Do I still have to go by the Ticket Window to do an exchange or can I get into the Park at the turnstiles with the Costco paper version?

I have the actual paper AP's that we purchased from Costco in hand.
We are going to the park on Saturday 3/21 for our 1st day which happens to be a blackout - but understand that you can enter the park whether or not it is a blackout on the day you activate your AP for no additional fee.

If I have to go to the ticket window and opt to do it on FRIDAY (to save time on Saturday am) which is not a black out day would that be the day that I activate and then not be able to enter on Saturday without pay the upgrade fee???

I do know I have to go and get the hard copy sometime that day.

If you activate them on friday you will not be able to enter on that saturday. If you want to get in without having to buy a blackout day ticket you must get your ap that day. Yes you have to wait in line for the ticketbooth, she'll get all of your info and give you a paper ticket to enter DL where you then go to the bank, get your photo taken and receive your AP.

If I do all the ticket booth stuff on FRIDAY but not enter the park will I be okay?

If you go to the booths on friday they will print out a ticket that I believe is only good for entry that day. If you want to enter the park without needing a blackout day ticket you will have to get your pass saturday morning.

Last time I bought a new AP they required you to activate it that day so if you didn't want to get in then youd have to activate it Saturday.

We just activated our Costco AP's on Saturday. You will need to go to the ticket booth and get the paper ticket, and on the ticket it will state that you have to go to the Main Street Bank that day...so if you want to go to the park on saturday, don't get the tickets on friday.

THANKS!!!!

I was just hoping to avoid the ticket line on a Saturday morning and do it at our leisure on Friday when we arrive. Maybe DH can stand in line at the gates while I stand in line at the Ticket booth. :rolleyes1

You have to wait at a ticket booth, the Costco AP vouchers do not have barcodes on them for the CMs to scan you in. Go Saturday morning early and just be prepared to wait in line. You will not have to pay the blackout fee for that Saturday. :)

Can't you go to guest services too? That is where we activated ours....

I don't know, we did ours at the ticket booths both times. We got in late on Friday night and went straight to the ticket booths, less than 10 min. and we were on our way. The first night we didn't know where to go because it looked like the booths were all closed, the CM at the front of the line told us to go to booth 8 to get our APs.

How much do the Costco AP's cost, is it the same as buying them at the park? Can you only get them in So Cal Costcos?

They were available at So Cal Costcos only, none up here in the north. My DBFs Mom bought them for us, they were the same price as the standard deluxe as the parks but each one came with a free $50 gift card, which we used towards upgrades and meals. :)
