Activate Gold AP at Resort concierge?

We have DVC Gold AP certificates and will be staying at AKV - Kidani in a few weeks. I know I can activate them at any park ticket window or Guest Relations. Would that also include resort concierge as well? If so, can concierge also upgrade them (I'm wanting to take advantage of the recent Platinum AP "special")?

We are planning on an early check-in before we head to Epcot for rope drop and was hoping I could take care of it at the resort and not have to deal with it when we get to the Park.

Thanks for any comments and suggestion!

At Magic Kingdom, there are Guest Service windows to the right to activate the pass. However, there is a second set of Guest Center windows that are in a small building just outside of the ticket turn styles in the center. We walked past this building to get to the windows to the right. Due to the number of people at those GS windows, they sent us back to the building so we could be serviced more quickly.

Tickets can only be "manipulated" at the parks...and for good reason:

1. The only place anyone would really have a ticket issue is at the parks...the ticket capability at marketplace is a nice option as well.
2. There are thousands of employees with high turnover at hotels...and they don't exaclty invest a lot in training anymore. I know from experience that too many mistakes are made and tickets are too expensive/have too many restrictions to let all those fingers manipulate them.

We have activated our vouchers at ticket windows as well. In fact we were in line for guest services at DHS the first time they sent us to a ticket window for processing. We also have activated them at the TTC at a ticket window.

Correct...the ttc is still the primary ticket hub on property...it just isn't used in the capacity as it originally was...

A piggyback question. We just got DVC Gold AP and did not receive a certificate or voucher. Was told they were directly linked to out accounts. Is this true? Don't want to arrive in a couple weeks and find out we needed something on paper. Also, every DVC member must show their member cards when activating correct?

If you log on to MDE, do you see them under 'My Reservations & Tickets'? If yes, you really only need your DVC Member Card and adults (ages 18+) need a photo id.

check on the MY Disney Experience App. You should see the passes on there...

Would it be possible for the AP to self-activate the first time the MB was scanned? I know things aren't set up this way now, but with so much being tied to the MB, I'm kind of wondering if "activating the AP' couldn't be made to be an automatic thing.

I'm sure they could IF Disney wanted to. Online pass renewals for Tourists (those not eligible for a discount) and FL Residents self activate.

AFAIK, even if you have a "self-activated" annual, you'd still want to go to Guest Services (or a ticket booth) to get the AP discount card if you plan to take advantage of any of the discounts tied to the annual passes. Your magic band isn't enough to get discounts. (This was the case during our trip this past October and I do not think anything has changed in that regard since then).

If you have two sets of ticket medium how do you ensure the correct tickets are activated at the gate. We purchased annual passes this spring and with the recently announced special plan to buy a second set prior to our fall trip. Given our current passes are valid until 2031 we would like to not use them until later. These have not been activated but do already show up in our reservations and tickets window (they appeared immediately after we purchased them).

Pre-purchased annual passes must be activated at either a park ticket window or guest relations location before they become valid for park entry. Just let the CM know which of the passes you want to have activated.

You can prioritize them by going to a ticket booth. Or, you can create a fake person in your MDE account and transfer the unused tickets to that "person." Then you can transfer it back when you plan to use it.
