Activate Child AP - Need kid there?

I have a 3 year old with an AP voucher that we need to convert upon arrival. We're staying at Beach Club (coming in late) and our first park day is MGM. Can I run over to Epcot and activate her AP and pick up our DDE at the same time? Or does she need to go which would make a quick trip over M...U... C...H... longer? Or can I pick up the DDE with just a voucher and activate her AP at MGM? Trying to figure out the easiest way!

I didn't need either my child or my dh there. They never even asked for ID! Now, I am sure this might just be a fluke, but I would say that you most definately wouldn't need your child there.

(I wish I would have known that before I made them walk through AK parking lot in the pouring rain!)
