Ack!! The chorus is getting louder!!!

The baby parakeet chorus that is!!

We can't tell exactly how many of this clutch of eggs have hatched - I know I have seen one baby (He was sticking out from under her wing - not quite attractive yet..lol) She did lay 7 - yes seven eggs this time though - with the first clutch of 5 - one died though - only a few months old!!

I guess I'm going to have to open a parakeet farm. I'm cornering the market in white parakeets with blue stripes. Anyone interested?

Oh I KNOW where you are coming from! The bird chorus awakens us every morning now about 5:30 a.m. It starts quietly with one or two questionable peeps ("is it time to wake up yet?") and then gets louder and louder when all 7 start. Then when the 3 cockatiels start it's almost unbearable. When Ziggo & Xatu see me they start calling out to me - it's gotten to the point that I have to sneak into the bathroom so they don't start calling when they see me!

It's just after 9 a.m. now and they have settled down for their early-mid morning nap. They will get nosiy throughout the day with one final hurrah right after dusk.

Wow...you have LOTS of birdy babies now! Two of our seven are females but they get NASTY around the boys when they get too fresh. They will let them feed them, but when they get too close they get pecked - you go girls! Ziggo believes that Xatu is a girl (we are not sure yet) and he follows her around and she chases him back! Ha!

I just love my flock...
