You know that point when you have been studying something so long (in this case DISNEY) and you just have millions of little random facts floating around in your head? We leave in four days and it's time to stop gathering facts and get something--hopefully a touring plan--down on paper!

i feel your pain! we had the same problem. you need a notebook write the important stuff down and all the tips you can think of. have fun that the most important thing!

wow me too 4 days and im going nuts trying to get everything writen down lol notebook works
have fun

It was the point at which I actually made a spreadsheet charting each family member's ride priorities that I decided that maybe I'd gone overload on the planning. :lmao: Have fun on your trip!

I do the same thing too! I make lists of things to take with us, things to carry at the park, things to buy before we go and then all the other info I find helpful about the park, hotels and restaraunts. Most of the time I copy useful things and paste into word and then go through it all and take notes! So much useful info on this board.:goodvibes

I started out thinking I would make some major plan of attack.
Our group will be 5 adults (some like everything; some only the mild stuff), plus two kids age 5 & 6 and twins 2 yrs. old.
After a while I realized that no matter how I plan, it will probably all blow into the wind the minute we walk through the turnstiles.
So I will just wing it, like we always do, and hope for the best. Sometimes too much planning can take the fun out of it.

I always have this problem in almost anything I do, it's called analysis paralysis :)

I just make sure I have the fast pass system down and then just wing the rest of it. My 2 DS's are older so we mainly hit the big rides and then take some time to ride a few tamer rides in the evening that DW will go on. Be sure to relax and smell the roses a bit while you are there. Having a good fast pass runner (that's me!) will help the others be able to chill and relax a bit.

I wish we could be a little more spontaneous, but my Autism Spectrum kiddo really benefits by having a written out plan. We are flexible and all that, but we try to start with a plan.

Last time I made a list I forgot it at home :rotfl2:, so now I don't even bother! The only list I need is the one I make in my head.

Welcome to my brain. It hurts. :sad1: But looking forward to the trip so that all of the studying can pay off. :thumbsup2

We have toured many ways in DL. Our first trips without Dis help and knowledge, the next few armed to the hilt with schedules and plans and more recently with loose schedules/plans/ridemax help and lots of spontaneous action! I have some kids who want "the plan" and one who wants to wander with some aim...ie the illusion of just letting it flow but getting all the good stuff in! He just does not want to see that printed schedule come out in my hand!

One of the things I still wonder about is one day last year after numerous days in the park and we were up early for our last day. The kids ages 13 to 25 (all experienced in getting around the parks) wanted to plan where to go that day. By 11 am we were still PUTTERING around the Shooting Gallery and looking at LOTS of pin trader's books and books of pins - not actually trading, just admiring and chatting and looking. IT DROVE ME CRAZY!!! We still had not done one ride yet on that last park day but the kids were all having the time of their lives! I really had to let go of what would have been my plan and see the magic happening right under my nose.

Have a magical time however the plans work out!!!!!

We're a day behind you and I too can't stop running different plans through my head. Other than lists of things to buy and pack before we leave we don't really write down much of a plan (if we right anything down at all). We know to ride the more popular rides early but otherwise we just play it by ear. The thing we try to remember is we are on vacation and it's supposed to be fun and relaxing not stressful. That's our goal next week.

We now only plan specific things - like Fireworks, Fantasmic, Alladin, Billy Hill - that kind of stuff. We make sure we know which days we are doing those and then go with the flow. If we don't feel like going to Fantasyland to ride Peter Pan - we don't!

This way we have a small plan and don't miss out on something because it was only showing our first night and we didn't see it.
