Well, the title says it all. DS and I were tie-dying some stuff for tomorrow's 'WACKY WEDNESDAY' at soccer camp. Guess who's rubber glove ripped? MINE. I'm now sporting a lime green, fushia, and blue hand. I've tried abrasive soap that DH uses when he works on cars. Alcohol, Nail polish remover, and shaving cream. Nothing doing.

Any tips for me???

Mods--I'm also going to cross post this on one of the creative boards as well.

Well, at least I'm working from home this week. :lmao:

:rotfl2: This so reminds me of the time that I made the mistake of doing tie dying at a dinner group where we were also serving margaritas. :faint: We had the time of our lives, what we remember of it, however, it took years for my deck to look the same. :rotfl: One of the women forgot to put her rubber gloves back on at one point and reached her hands into to the dye--they were a beautiful color until the dye wore off her skin. Not sure how long it took or if anything really helped lighten it. I was just thankful that there weren't any mishaps in my house.

Thanks for the memories. :teeth:

Try paint thinner or gasoline. If it can come off that will do the trick.

In case you don't have some spare gas hanging around.....try a little bit of bleach but then make sure you grab some mouseterizer because the bleach will suck the mousture right out of you :sunny:

Did anyone else read that and see baby tye dyed tees running around?

Do you happen to have lye? DO NOT GET IT IN YOUR EYE!!!!! A little bit of useless trivia until it happens to you is that at my eye docs office my boss (an MD) told us that the only truly emergent problem that someone must be seen immediately for is Lye in your eye, anything else can usually wait a few hours (though a sudden loss of vision comes a close second).

Head down to Saks Fifth Avenue. Purchase several lovely ball gowns and long white gloves to go with them. The gloves will cover up the dye on your hands and you will feel absolutely marvelous about yourself! Be sure and have your hair and nails done as well. Then head over to the salon for a new upsweep hairdo and a beautiful tiara. Be sure and let hubby know that you will be expecting him to take you some place special for dinner now that you're all dressed up.

Continue this until all traces of dye are gone from your hands. :thumbsup2

OK, I know what will help--have a couple margaritas. You won't give a rat's rear what your hands look like. The friend of mine did not care until the next morning! :rotfl:
