My best friend from college and I have a WDW trip planned for October 25-28. My air reservations have been made, and a friend/colleague of mine did us a great favor and is giving us her timeshare at Bonnet Creek for the 3 nights. It will cost me next to nothing.

Well, my friend has a job thing that just came up that she can't get out of, and it's in Boston on the same dates that I was going to go. I really don't feel like I can ask my friend with the timeshare to change the dates, she went to some trouble to get this for me in the first place. And I already have my in-laws coming to help with my daughter while my DH is at work, they're all lined up.

So, the question is, what would you do?

A. Cancel trip/change trip dates.
B. Invite a friend/family member to come (DH can't come, can't take off work and we don't have the money for him to come for this trip!)
C. Go alone.

I have to say, I've always been very curious/excited about doing a solo trip, being able to do what I want, when I want at WDW, it sounds amazing! But the idea makes me a little nervous, too.

So, what would you do, and what do you think I should do? Thanks for your honest opinions!

I've gone solo 9 times, with my 10th coming up in December - I say go for it!

I would probably try and see if someone else could go with me, but if not, I would go alone. I would never miss a planned trip to Disney!

I agree, see if you can find someone else that wants to go, but regardless of if you find someone or not you should go.

I agree with the above. See if you can get someone to go with you and if not go solo!

I think you should go anyway. I am thinking of a solo trip and the more stories I read of solo travelers the more I am getting excited about trying it.

I'm seriously leaning towards January for the trip.
Hopefully some folks will give us some good info on it

Go for it! I started traveling solo because I was tired of a failure to match schedules getting in the way of my good time. I missed out on a trip I really wanted to take because no one could go with me. Never again!

It sounds like an ideal situation for a solo trip.

I'd go alone. The food and wine festival will be going on. You can sit in on free seminars if they interest you.

My husband cancelled on me one time years ago 15 minutes before we were supposed to leave for the airport. Serious storms had left us without power shortly before the trip and he didn't want to leave and have us loose power again.

I went alone (since everything was paid for) and loved every minute. Now I shedule a few days alone often before he joins me so I can do all the things he hates.

You should go, I have made solo trips and they can be fun. It nice to take your time with things and not worry if everyone else is happy or not.

It also happens that I will be down 10/20-10/27 staying at Bonnet Creek. So if you decide to go let me know and maybe we could meet up for a meal or something. We are doing MNSSHP on 10/23

Same thing happened to me last December and I went ahead with the trip. And I loved every minute of my solo trip. I say go for it!

I hope you decide to go, since the trip is already arranged. I am thinking of taking a solo trip in January after my kids go back to school from winter break. I have always wanted to go in Jan and they can't miss school (too old now for that). Hearing about everyone's solo adventures makes me realize I can do it too.

would DEFINITELY go solo if I couldn't find anyone else. My last trip was sorta solo--it's a long story-- and i had a perfectly WONDERFUL time.

I would ask another friend to go, but only one you feel you would get along fine with and that enjoys Disney as well. If not then I would go alone and enjoy yourself, these opportunites don't arise often. Linda :)

Yes, I would ask someone else - someone fun, and if not, go alone! Whee! It sounds fun to me!

So what are you going to do? Pre-trip report?

That's why, in 18 days I'll be in WDW for my very first solo trip! :thumbsup2

I had originally planned a trip with my best friend (girls only trip) and at the last minute she realized she couldn't go. So, Dh and I were talking and it actually was he who said "go alone"!!! I absolutely love WDW; been there more times than I can even remember. I didn't even think twice.

Just imagine; going where you want to go, doing what you want to do, eating where you want to eat. Nah....it didn't take much to convience me.

Hope you have an easy time deciding. But whatever you do, have fun!!!:cool1:
