What do you feel that you have achieved this year? Whether it be something work related or family related?

Well, I had a very selfish year - See in late 2004 I broke up with DGF and it was a long 3 year relationship - so for 2005 I decided that I wanted to enjoy myself. I have for a better part of the past 7 years been in relationships so I wanted to really do things I have always wanted to do - so I focused on my career and I have created some goals for myself and I also traveled a lot within the U.S to see things I have always wanted to see. I went to L.A because I wanted to go back there - I went to Chicago twice - because I loved it the first time. Saw Wrigley Field. I traveled with my Mets and the Jets this weekend. I really did not worry about dating and all that stuff.

For the first time in years I built up some confidence and I am very happy with myself which is something I wanted to do because sooner or later I will meet that someone (well hopefully) and get married. At least now I can say I did something for myself in my 20s

I know its selfish but I needed it. I spent 7 years trying to sweep 2 girls off their feet and both times it went no where - I wanted to be selfish in 05 and I did!

As far as 06 - I have no plans - I am going to continue to grow professionally and see what happens!!

Sorry for the vent!

Graduated high school
I completed my first semester of college, and am in danger of having a very high GPA for this semester :cool1:

Went back to school after a 15 year break and have a 3.8 GPA, and now I understand fractions!! Still don't like them, but now I understand them

I miraculously survived the first full year without my mom. Before she passed, I'd think "How could life go on without her?" I now realize that when you are given the gift of unconditional love, it stays with you for eternity.

I've gotten through some very emotional stuff with my youngest DS without loosing my mind (or letting him loose his).

I've lost 15 pounds without feeling like I've been deprived of anything.

I've managed to get along with my MIL (while not letting her get away with anything).

I achieved a trip to WDW with my sons!

Job related:

I won a $10,000 technology grant for my middle school band. We developed a recording studio. Our high school band (where I am an assistant director) finished 3rd in the state in concert band and made the state finals in marching band.

My 2nd pregnancy and in relation to that, we achieved our financial goal enabling me to become a stay at home mom when the baby comes. :goodvibes

Bit the bullet and took the family on our first EVER family vacation (WDW! Then we went a second time with the rest of the tax return!)

Also, went back to school several yrs ago...to become an RN. With dh working full time and going for his Masters (teacher). I have over 50 semester credit hours under my belt now, and including this past semester's first clinical courses, still have my 4.0! And they told me it couldn't be done! :sunny:

Dropped 20 pounds. And my commercial finally made it on the air. I was on nationwide during Survivor!!

Lets see where to begin

Left a 13 year relationship, and did so without losing my mind, and without ruining my childrens relationship with their father.

returned to school, pursing my ADN 3.9 right now- pending final grades from registrar

took the first 5 months of the year for myself, oh so greedy, but so rewarding emotionally.

started journaling and faithfully write 3 pages every morning...and I dont re-read them

stopped analyzing EVERY damn thing that happens, and just let the cards land where they go......

oh oh oh- and falling in love.. :goodvibes .....thats a big one!

I put 2 obedience titles on my Dobie! That's 6 legs in 6 shows! We worked so hard but it was totally worth it. Looking forward to 2006 and more titles plus training a new pup!

...I think this is an awesome thread! I have enjoyed reading everyone's accomplishments and want to read more!!
There are some awesome people here on the DIS. Its so nice to read the positive things that happen to all of you!!

Personally, I feel like I'm finally comfortable with myself, and I have friends who love me, and I'm not trying to fit into what everyone else is doing anymore :)

And for a breif, shining moment, I was the third highest sophomore in the state for Math Team :sunny:

My single biggest accomplishment this year was competing and completing my first ever triathlon. Next year will be even tougher as I tackle on my first Ironman triathlon...

I got married to the man of my dreams in the most amazing place on earth.

Became a grandmother for the first time in February

Made 2 trips to WDW in one year

Was promoted to department manager
