Sounds like a fantastic DIS meet. I am finding out on this board that DISer's are some of the sweetest people.

Shmu, you are too sweet!! I can't say how Kathy felt about the meet, she might not like me at all after she met me , but we adored their family. They were very kind and friendly. You are right about DISers being very sweet people.

Hi Michelle, thanks for being so kind. That was dessert, it was their version of apple pie.

I still don't know how that handler talked me into being in the pic, but it made Bill happy.

We have a day scheduled for AK in June and a couple days in November. June is an early magic hours day, do you think we will get there early ?

Well, Kathy hasn't posted that day in her TR, we will have to see what she thought about it . I was surprised that the bus driver did that, but very happy and appreciative!!

Another great update. I'm glad you go into some of the pics too Tracy. And I like that you wore the lime green. I carried a lime green backpack but it was too cold last week to be wearing t-shirts!!!

It's funny that you wrote that about the birds flying overhead. We've never done Flights of Wonder because I'm sort of freaked out about the whole idea of those birds whizzing by overhead. Now, after your update, I'm for sure not going in there. I do love AK though. Such a great park to just take your time enjoying the scenery.

So glad your dismeet went so nicely. We met up with a fellow disser last week and she and her husband shared our Illuminations cruise. The whole trip was fantastic but being able to meet up with our online friends is such a treat!!!!

What a great update-I feel like I'm there!!

I had to get caught up a bit. I've had this flu that knocked me down the past few weeks. I don't have much energy-it really sapped me. I seem to be very unhealthy this year for some reason. I've been dying to get back on your TR. So I did tonight!!

Anyway, so many things I want to comment on.... I bet it was fun to meet Kathy. I'm sure she loved you and Bill. How could you not!! You seem like such great people. I'd love to hook up with you both sometime. Trust me when I say this-Buzz isn't as wild as he lets on. We're pretty boring really. Don't tell Buzz I said that! He'd probably try to prove me wrong!

I loved the Ohana's with the meat. We were just talking about that at dinner tonight. I ate so much I got a little sick, but it was worth it. What a great place. Buzz was asking how good my memory was and if I could remember the last restaurant we went to in WDW. I had to think for about 5 mins, but eventually I came up with Ohana's. My memory has never been good....

Tracy, you should be in more pictures-you're beautiful and the love you and Bill share really comes out in the photos. I love pictures like that of my kids-when it really captures the moment or their personalities. Priceless. Did you lighten your hair? It looks great! My hair is naturally dark but I've been lightening it for about 21 years. It's mostly gray now. Don't know how that happened....

Jordan, 99% of the bus drivers were fabulous to us. The 1% was donkey's behind. I am glad to see we aren't the only ones that go to FOW every trip, that Bald Eagle is beautiful . You should be jealous, Kathy was fantastic . I would have loved to hang out with you and Kathy at the same time, that would have been an awesome time!!

Hi Pakey!! Well I guess being in WDW is a good excuse to not be reading . I have to represent the DIS with my lime green I love this forum!! I got a lime green mickey head disney pin off of ebay. I will post a pic of it sometime. I am going to wear it every day of our next trip.

It really depends on where you sit as to whether the birds will be flying over your head. I wouldn't mark it off my list because of this, I would ask the CM's if they can give you an idea of where NOT to sit. It is a great show.

I bet your cruise was fun, I am so happy you got to have a DISmeet too, they are the greatest!!

It was very fun to meet Kathy. I feel like I talked her to death though . When I am nervous, I either don't talk at all or I can't keep my mouth shut . I would think meeting you and Buzz would be a really fun experience!!

Bill always eats too much at Ohana's. He absolutely loves that place. We aren't going there in June, but will go in November. My memory is getting worse by the year .

Thank you so much for saying that. We do seem happy in those pictures. My favorite picture of us is in Bill's signature. My son took it when we were waiting for the ferry at POFQ in Feb. 2006. We both had no idea he was taking it. I just love Bill's smile in that picture . I actually colored my hair right before the trip. It will get fixed this week, too many grays peeking out .

Hi Monica!! I think from now on I will be in pictures with Mickey. I had to let him kiss me because Minnie kissed Bill . I agree, DIS meets are great . Yes, we did like Whispering Canyon, we are going to go back again and really try out the entire experience of it. Your TR is great and the pictures are beautiful!!

Tracy, I forgot to ask in my last post about the Pal Mickey. I was thinking about getting one but don't know anything about them. Do they even still sell them at WDW? We tried looking at World of Disney but the place was just way too packed and I had to get out of there.

And I can't wait until the "announcement" regarding your next trip. We just got back--hasn't even been 2 full weeks and I booked another trip yesterday! We are going in May. It's going to just be DH and I. We haven't done a "just the two of us" trip to the World in 6 years now so it's time.

I agree with taking as many pictures as possible. You can always delete the yucky ones, but you can't keep the good ones that you don't take! My BF isn't keen on taking photos either, but I keep telling him we're just getting older and uglier and one day we'll look back and be like, "wow! we looked so good back then!". Plus, I love to edit my photos, get that one good shot and milk it for all its worth. Besides, how better to share the memories!

ok, now going back to read the older pages. I wish I had remember to take so many pictures like you. Hoping to go back in September, so I'll be asking you lots of questions about staying ath the World with special needs! Say hi to Bill and Ace for me!

Hi Pakey. Yes they still sell Pal Mickey. I think you can get him at all the resort shops. We got ours at Everything Pop. I know what you are saying about World of Disney, that store just stresses me out.

I know some people say Pal Mickey can get annoying to carry around, but we wouldn't really know, he always just sat on Bill's tray and enjoyed the ride.

Yay for you on the trip you just booked, going there is so addicting, LOL. I love that you are going with just the Hubby, have a great time!!

Well, I know I made another announcement recently, a happy one about us going to WDW in June to celebrate Bill's birthday and go to Star Wars Weekend. Sometimes things in life makes your plans change.

Bill has been having 100's of muscle spasms a day in his right ankle causing chronic pain . Lately it has become almost unbearable. He took a day off last week from his internship so I could take him to an orthopedic surgeon.

Bill has had many surgeries in the past, most of these were tendon releases to stop the constricture of the muscles. No amount of physical therapy and stretching will help this condition with him. The surgeon suggested cutting the outside tendon and possibly reattaching it to support his ankle. He will know more when he is working on the ankle. If they just do the release, he will be sore for about a week, but then ok. If he does the reattachment, there will be a cast for at least 6 weeks.

The surgeon wanted to do the procedure in March, Bill asked if he could wait until after school was out, sometime in the middle of June. He wants to get his internship done and said "I don't want to spend another birthday having surgery" . I told him I would support him no matter what he decided.

This past week the pain is getting worse. This man has a very high pain threshold. If he is saying it is hurting, the pain has to be very bad . We talked about things and we made the decision to cancel the June Disney trip, get the surgery done either right out of classes, sometime in the middle of May or right after his birthday. He is worried that the surgeon will probably do the reattachment and wants to make sure the cast is off before classes start back up for the fall semester.

So we are going to add a little to the November trip and possibly put ESPN weekend 2009 into the mix, before the cruise in Dec. 2009 . Bill is a little sad, but we both know it is for the best.
