The condo we stayed at was a Marriott and the beds were SOOOO comfy!

Bill says I talk about those beds so much he is going to call them and find out who makes them so he can buy us one .

WOW! Great update!! I just Love the songs!!!!
And Oh THAT BED Wonder if they would hire me to be a mattress tester??? The night before we flew out our WISH org put us upat the Marriot in Houston and OOOOOOHHHHH It was WONDERFULL, but Braeton was not feeling well and we didn't get but a few hours of sleep. I wonder if we could redo that part???
maybe we should just redo the whole trip you know! ?

I knew from the picture on your trip report it was a Marriott . I even showed the picture to Bill. You need to go back to WDW, everyone needs to go at least once a year .

Hey there Tracy and Bill! Welcome back! Just got back on Saturday night and finally caught up on all the posts!

I love those Marriott beds too...we stayed in one outside DC and I just didn't want to leave. Those beds should be illegal! Makes me want to stay and do nothing!

“Good morning Mrs. K, this is your 4am wake up call”. The Marriott front desk was so polite. I had already been up for ½ an hour, but it was nice to hear the “Mrs. K” part. I sat up and heard from the other side of the bed, “Is it time to go to Disney World?” That made me smile .

Now normally I am NOT a morning person and Bill always being chipper in the morning usually annoys me, but not today. We were ready before 5am and I called Bell services for the luggage. I had promised myself on this trip that I would get help for all the bags we had. They were there within 5 minutes.

The shuttle wasn’t supposed to take us until 5:45am so we just sat and relaxed in the lobby. A brand new shuttle with a lift came to get us. Why do they always drive like Nascar drivers? I sit right next to Bill to make sure nothing happens to him. We had our first thrill ride of the trip.

A wonderful gentleman greeted us at the Southwest terminal and we were checked in curbside. They even started the paperwork for Bill’s wheelchair. I had not lost any paperwork before we got to the airport . I breezed through security while Bill was patted down like a suspicious family from Jersey I know . The chemical test was administered on Bill’s braces, shoes, and wheelchair. I can’t blame the TSA, Bill usually looks like he is up to something.

Right after security, I see a woman in a manual wheelchair with a hat that had Chip and Dale plush animals on it, complete with what looked like acorns attached to the hat.

I thought goodness she has to be going to Disney, I wonder if she is a DISer. SHE WAS!!! Our first DIS meet of the trip and we weren’t even on the plane. We chatted about the DIS and Disney and she told us her daughter worked there, she was so proud of her. She was such a lovely woman. In my excitement of going to Florida I forgot to write down her name . Something to do with Kathy karokee?? (If anyone knows PLEASE help me out here!!)

We were told Bill and I would be allowed on the plane first so I could transfer him and show them how to dismantle his chair. The Southwest gentleman knew exactly what he was doing, it was a relief to me. We got Bill situated, I got strapped in, and looked through the window to watch them load the chair. Now I always tell the airline that Bill’s chair weighs about 300 lbs. He has two batteries as big as car batteries, but the chair looks deceptively light. I suggested that at least 4 people lift it to put it on the belt.

Doesn’t the guy in the back of the chair look like he is in pain? No one seemed to listen to me about the wheelchair on this trip for some reason.

I love looking at clouds out the window of the plane.

We got our breakfast bars and drink, then Bill and I both took a nap. We heard the “ding” then the pilot was telling us we were going to be landing soon, so I straightened both of us up. Take offs and landings always make me a little nervous, I always hold Bill’s hand and always tell him I love him. He likes to smile at me and say “I know” like Hans Solo in the Star Wars movie just to annoy me and then he will smile and say it back. While we were making our way to the terminal I had to take the first palm tree picture for Josh.

We pulled up to the gate and waited patiently for the wheelchair. I got all our stuff and set it just outside the plane door. Down the walkway comes the wheelchair s l o w l y, it is hard to push in manual. The flight attendant tries to connect the power wires while telling me he doesn’t have his glasses on, I gently tell him to let me do it because you have go to do it a certain way. He keeps trying to push the connectors together. I then walk up to the chair and say “please let me do it”. He finally gives up . Two seconds later it is connected and we have power, I assemble the rest of the things they have taken apart, go pick Bill up, and place him in the chair “ahhhhh” he says. He feels so much more comfortable in the wheelchair with the cushion and the back made for him.

Off we go to find the mini monorail and the Magical Express desk. We get there, one of the cast members asks us to follow him, he was from Indiana just like Bill. They have us walk around a bunch of people waiting for busses and ask me to sit down on one of the benches. Then he went to talk to someone about getting an ME bus with a lift.

I can see the Pop Century line and the CM sending people from it to waiting busses. I hear her say in her little microphone “54, 53, 54”. She is counting all the people she is sending on the busses. Bus after bus is being loaded, but I am happy, we are in Florida. Come to find out the first bus they sent for us had a lift that didn’t work. We weren’t worried, we would get to Pop Century sooner or later.

Tracy!! I saw that woman with that hat and two others on Main Street on Tuesday, November 6!!! She was surrounded by CMs admiring her hats!! One of them was a "Purple Hats Club" hat...you know, the red and purple? The other two were Disney, and oh-so-cute!! She was explaining how much fun she had making them. I kind of eavesdropped as I was running ahead of my family to get in line at the bakery for my morning coffee... I, too, figured she had to be A DISer!!

It's a small world after all!!! (pun intended)

Yay! Another update! How great to have your first DIS spotting in the airport! I have a feeling you will have many more DIS sightings on this trip.

Love the pics especially the one of Bill going up in the lift. Looks like he and the CM are both laughing! He has got such a great personality.
And by the way those guys lifting the wheelchair?? You know they were all in tubs with some extremly hot water that night. Looks like they might have strained a little too hard!! Well you warned them, they should have listened!!!! Poor Guys!!!

Lee, Bill laughed at me every time I took pictures of him on lifts and on rides where he stayed in the chair. I told him go ahead and laugh this is for the trip report .

The airline guys must have thought I didn't know what I was talking about when it comes to the chair. I have had the back wheel go over my foot, I know how heavy it is .

I cant wait to hear more about POP as me and DBF will be staying there for 2 nights in January! Im super excited! It will be our first disney trip together and kind of neat beacuse we met on these boards! The DIS ROCKS!

When you live with someone in a wheelchair there is a lot of waiting. Bill has taught me to be patient.

The lifts are really cool when they work, when they don't not so much.

You would think they would have some type of equipment for heavy things, but I didn't see it .

I can't believe there was no comment from you about the "suspicious Jersey family", when I talked about Bill and the airport.

Just to clarify everyone, I was talking about KATHY'S family . They are so shady they are on the no fly list . I am telling the truth, read her trip report, only sweet little Tricia isn't .
