Accuweather driving me crazy!!

Believe me, if you listen to the bloggers on weatherundergroung they will have you going in circles. I base my info on SFWM, and to Dr. Masters. and my overall observations. Im not saying it is set in stone, like someone said the forcast change more often, this far out in the Atlantic. If you know anything about weather I will refer back to a certain A named storm, that was supposed to curve out to the Atlantic, instead it left thousands of people homeless. We have seen this happen over and over with other storms that were supposed to curve but did not. All I was saying is watch for the Bermuda High to set in, if and I say IF it does set in, the storm can not and will not blow through it, it has to turn to the west. Or it can stall and wait for the next front to drag it into the ocean. We will wait and see. Please keep your eyes on it if you plan to visit Florida. Remember there are only two roads out of this state and they do get congested. Been there, Done that !

We're heading out on Saturday and I'm not minding the rain. As an above poster said the lines should be better. I was more worried about the heat, so the rain will be welcome to cool things off As long as they don't close the parks it's all good We're all going soon, time to banana:!!

There is nothing wrong with being vigilant. I will (as always) be watching the weather carefully during my trip. I am remaining confident that the weather models will hold up on Karen and that the disturbances in the caribbean don't develop and the disturbance over southern Florida is long gone by then.

I guess it depends on the track of the storm but Orlando is more inland and from what I've read off these boards Disney is where a lot of the coastal people flock to in a hurricane. So if Karen does hit (of course all this depends on her path) chances are there would be a lot of rain in Orlando but not near what it would be on the coast. From what I've read from others on these boards it usually doesn't last more then a day. I know this is a generalization and anything can happen just restating what I've read. I'll be keeping an eye on this one while we're there and hoping Karen stays out to sea. Take care all and have great trips.

Having said all that from my practical side - AUUUUGGGHHHHH from my nervous nellie side. This sucks!

After living in South FL for almost 20 yrs, nothing surprises me with the weather or the storm predictions. Many times it seems like the storms they tell us not to worry about come and surprise us and vice versa...

People flock inland to avoid storm surge but winds and driving rains can still be quite devastating even inland. Actually a hurricane can be very damaging inland as well as on the coast. They can spawn off tornados and super cells. The winds can be very damaging as well.

Case and point is Charley back in '04. No one expected the damage they got in the central FL area and that didn't even come in straight across from the Atlantic, but was a gulf/SW FL entrance, just like Wilma which did lots of damage down our way in '05. Never underestimate the power of a hurricane anywhere in FL (or anywhere else for that matter).

kaysmommie-My advice is to just be patient and wait until a day or 2 before your arrival. Check the local Orlando stations, not Accuweather. I find AW is the least accurate out of any of them! No one really knows what it will be like next week, but I can tell you, the rainy "fall" season has set in. Tropical disturbances of any kind are typical this time of year in addition to low pressure systems.

It is not unusual to get days and days of rain this time of year. It's been raining here all week most of the day and expected to continue. We're headed to WDW tomorrow and I'm not too thrilled with the way the weather has been or will probably be over the next few days, but there's not much I can do to change it. I'm more concerned about driving in the yuck weather than once we're there. At least it'll wash the love bug gook off the car

Otherwise it has been VERY hot. 90's for highs and when the sun is out all day it's like August...and the humidity, definitely nasty.

rain isn't a concern. in fact, it keeps crowd levels low and i generally hope for at least a few rainy days or nights. i worry more about the oppressive heat and humidity.

Ponchos are packed and we will deal with any rain that we encounter. I don't think I've ever been when it rains "all day." Just hoping MNSSHP isn't another washout.

I'd like to mention there were a number of $1 ponchos, in the dollar section at the front, non-grocery side, at the Super Target down on Hwy 192 past 535 in Kissimmee.

There's nothing we can do to move the trip at this point, so I'm not going to worry about weather or crowds. Just want to have a good time with my family.

The forecast for Central Florida for 9 months of the year is 'a chance of scattered showers' and that's exactly what I see next week.

My last THREE trips to Disney had that exact forecast for every day of our trip.. On each trip it rained briefly maybe two days of the trip. And by briefly I mean like an hour.. tops.

Don't worry about it. You'll stress yourself out over something you can't control anyway. Be prepared for it, but I'd bet it won't be a major concern in the long run.
