Accuracy of menus on DIS boards?

I have been reading the menus posted here on the DIS boards and noticed a few of my favorites items missing. But when I went to all ears net, they had them included (and in general seemed to have larger menus). For example, the DIS menus don't have the filet and mac from Jiko or the teriyaki steak at Kona.

Does anyone have any idea which source is more accurate?

Unfortunately none of the websites, not even Disney's, can boast 100% accuracy. The menus posted are like "snapshots" and are not updated in real time. Perhaps even more unfortunately, the Dis is right about the Jiko filet. The mac-and-cheese side is off the menu. The filet is served with roasted fingerling potatoes now.

I always look at both the DIS and Allears for the menus. I know the DIS does try to grab the most recent menus when they can and I'm sure Allears does the same. I use both as a guide to get a general idea about cuisine and prices as opposed to something to pre-determine my meals.

Depends on the day and time and phase of the :lmao:moon

The menus will never be 100% accurate on any site. Check the date of the last update and that will give you an idea of hte type of food at the restaurant. Things change, seasonal produce changes, chefs change....

Check the food porn often, you will see the latest pics that folks bring back. Also not a bad idea to check out some of the reviews

Have fun planning (or obsessing :yay:)

Ditto!

Use the menus as a guide. You will not know for sure exactly what the restaurant is serving until you're there.

Thanks guys! I know not to count on perfect accuracy, it just seemed like large discrepancies (3-4 fewer entrees, etc). We have been to these places many times but we are traveling with newbies and I want to show them the menus to get their input before we schedule ADRs. Since they will likely only review menus and not read the boards, I wanted to try to send them to the most accurate list.

Thanks for your help!

As others have said, even if they're not 100% accurate, you can still use any of the three (Dis, All Ears, and on the official WDW website) as a general guide to get a feeling for what the place offers. We went to Flying Fish twice in the same week and they had different choices for each time.
