Has anyone tried this? I got an I-phone from dh for Christmas (yay! - love new toys!), and downloaded the "Disneyland wait time" app almost immediately. Now I am wondering how reliable it really is - has anyone tried it? Any thoughts? Can I actually plan to use this as a "fly by the seat of my pants" planning tool while at the parks?

I deleted this app...I prefer MouseWait (also free) by leaps and bounds. It seems to be far more accurate and I found more people to use the app, therefore more information was being contributed.

There is a lot of great extras too.

I like DL Wait Times. I have found it to be pretty good. It's based on user input so I would use it as a gauge, not a rulebook, but I like it. I really like that you can pull up the recent history (for the day) of wait times, not just the last input.

I just installed MouseWait after reading FlameGirl's post above with the intent of comparing the information from each. I have to say I am a bit skeptical about it based on first impression as it shows Haunted Mansion as having a 90 minute wait - but its closed. :confused3 Maybe it's because I just installed it???

ETA: It has now updated HM to "closed." In comparing the 2 programs, it is interesting to see the variation in times, as would be expected since it's basedd on user input, I guess.

I actually have three disneyland wait time apps on my ipod (yes, not a phone, so it doesn't really help me in the parks, only back at the hotels or certain hot spots). And last time we were there my friend had one on his iphone and I had him download the other 2 free ones as well. Personally, I think mousewait is the best because people seem to be updating that one the most. And remember to post wait times that you see, to help others too!

I think there is variation in the wait times between apps also because, some people input what Disneyland says the ride wait time is, as opposed to others that input their own actual wait time for the rides. Also, when I was in the park, I input the wait times into MouseWait, and found that it doesn't automatically change the wait time to what I input, rather, it seems to take that into account and average user input wait times. If that makes sense.

I use DL Wait Times. It is sometimes 5-10 min off, but pretty accurate. I going to d/l Mouse Wait and try it out next time I'm there. I also noticed with DL Wait Times that it takes a bit for the times to update after you input them. Pretty much the same issue somebody described with the Mouse Wait app.

I downloaded a Disneyland an application that talks about wait times, but it only says see now, moderate or high. So, is there another one that tells actual wait times in minutes?

I absolutely agree with this! Both were pretty close, but I found MouseWait to be more accurate overall. And I also love the extras (like quick access to the menus).

The "averaging" was what I saw as well. When I was there in December, I was inputing my actual time from getting in line to getting on the ride, but I read on the MouseWait forums that you are actually supposed to input the wait time posted above the ride. The posted versus "my timed number" were usually pretty close since MouseWait rounds to the nearest five minutes and DL gives those red tags guests to measure the time.
