According to CNN.com, Ray Bradbury wants Michael Moore to change Farenheit 9/11 title

Apparently Michael Moore never asked permission to name his movie after Bradbury's 1953 novel Farenheit 451. Whoops.

I don't believe Bradbury can copyright the word "Farenheit". Sounds like a lame PR attempt on Bradbury's part.

Michael Moore didn't make a mistake, as jungle josh said, titles can't be copyrighted. But it does seem kinda crass to try to cash in on the popularity of someone else's work without their permission.

It was a deliberate play on the title of Bradbury's book, and although the law may not back him up, he has every right to be angry about it. Moore hasn't had an original title since "Roger and Me", which wasn't much of a stretch imagination-wise.

I'm sure Bradbury wouldn't be so mad about it if his book wasn't being re-published in a new edition in a couple of months, and if the Fahrenheit 451 movie wasn't being re-made as well (the targeted release date is early 2005).
