We are planning our second trip to Disney World this June. This time we have four kids, ages 12, 8, 5, and and infant. When working with Disney Reservations online it came up with a trundle bed room in Port Orleans Riverside. Would we be better off doing that or getting two rooms at Pop Century. I am worried we will be cramped at Port Orleans, although I would like to stay there.

We stayed at POR when it was Dixie Landings with 5 in the room. We are going back there again with the same 5 just older. We looked at other places but figured we will not be in the room much so why not. The Cabins at the campground are for 6, you may want to take a look at them.

I have stayed at Port Orlean with a trundle, and you will be very cramped. I have 3 children, and when my mother joined us a couple of years ago we got two rooms at Movies. It worked great, and having two bathrooms was a blessing! The rooms are a bit smaller, but having two verses all of you in one room will give you more square footage, beds, and toilets. Have a great trip, no matter which way you decide to go!

A trundle bed and crib in POR would be very cramped. Two rooms will allow for different bedtimes, and more restful sleep for those not sharing with the infant. The cabins is also a good suggestions.

We will be going in April...we have 6 kids (12,10,6,4,2,6mo)!!! The older 2 are my step kids. This will be the first time we have been to WDW with ALL the kids. We have been there w/ 4 and stayed at ASMo & WL both times in two rooms. The amount of space has always been a good thing so that we can separate at night when the little ones go to be. We can still be up and watch TV or whatever without disturbing sleeping kids. Also, having 2 bathrooms is a +. When we go this April we will have 3 rooms at PC. Hope this helps...

If one person in your party as an AP you might be able to get a couple of rooms with the passholder discount. Last Dec we stayed at POR at a rate of $88 per night and that was tax included. You might also check into some of the deluxe resorts that sleep 5. YC, Poly and AKL have rooms that have 2 queen beds and a day bed. There is still room for the crib. Our family of stayed at the YC in 2002 and we really loved the place. We thought our room was roomy enough and 1 bathroom was fine for all us.

Thank you for all your replies! I lean towards thinking it will be crowded with the crib at Port Orleans, I have looked in to the Animal Kingdom also, I just need to decide how much money I want to put into where we sleep! We learned last time when we stayed at CB that it is worth the investment, we have memories that will last forever.
I will look into an annual pass, since we will be there five days the room discount might make it worth it.

The rooms at AKL are on the small side. For 5 people you'll need a deluxe room, which is slightly larger, and more money. Of the deluxe rooms that sleep 5, the contemporary wing rooms are the best deal. They may not be the most beautiful, but they're large and often a good price. A ground floor room will have a patio. :)

I also have 4 children and am in a quandry about what to do for ressies. We went in Nov.2003 but in-laws were with us so they had two of our children. We stayed at POR and loved it. The question becomes do we get two rooms at POR adjoining or try out the WL cabins, is there any other rooms that accomodate 6. I know we could get 2 rooms at the value resorts and save some mone but this will probably be our last trip to WDW for several years so we might splurge a little. I have an annual pass so that will help.

From what I can tell, some of the deluxe rooms in the deluxe resorts can accomodate six people, that said, I understand people have really enjoyed staying in the cabins also. We are considering an annual pass and waiting to see what codes come out for June before we decide on one room in a deluxe or two in a value, but we have ruled out Port Orleans Riverside for now, I think.
