We are heading to WDW from Georgia on March 26, it will take us aobut 6 hours to get there. We were thinking it would take it much longer and have reservations for March 27, for 4 days at the VWL. We were just going to get an offsite hotel for that day and head into WDW early the next morning. Well now it looks like we will be getting there around 2 pm. What should we do? Should we still get an offsite hotel and head into the park when we arrive? We rented DVC points and cannot add a day with our current renter and dont want to pay $333 for an extra night. Anyway what would u suggest?

An offsite hotel would be fine. Have you considered staying one night at a Disney value resort? Pop Century or one of the All-Stars? They will be much cheaper than $333/night. That way, you can enjoy the Disney magic a little early.

:flower: :flower: We like to stay at a downtown disney resort the first night if we are arriving late in the day. We head over to Downtown disney and enjoy the sights and sounds. I don't mind the shopping one little bit--lol. Disneyquest can also be done that night. We have stayed at the Grosvenor but last March I wasn't particularly pleased with that hotel--quite dirty. It is only for one night so check out this area. You can walk from your hotel to Downtown Disney with no problem. :flower: :flower:

The thing I like about the Value idea is that WDW will transport your luggage for you...if you take it out of the car, and you can go on to the parks, and check in later. Or check mousesavers for local hotel recommendations.

You could also take a cat nap in the car along the way (or better yet...leave a little later) and pull in around 6-7am. Check in(you will have to come back)but leave some of your clothes/items in car so you can get to them, do an early breakfast at Trails end, change into swimsuits do an early swim, then off to the parks for 8-9am. Get back to get your room around 1-2pm bring your bags in then and take a rest!!! Hope you enjoy your trip :cheer2:

POP is a nice resort...DH and I stayed there on our Honeymoon in September...you will enjoy!
