Hi all,

I've decided to take my 12 yr old niece with me to Orlando in March or May 2005. Although I have always done the package holiday route, I would like to try and save some money this time around by arranging it myself.

My question is - Would I need to pay for my accomodation up front with the hotel of my choice, or just pay a deposit until I get there. (debating whether to stay on or off site) Also I need return transportation from airport to the hotel, any suggestions.

All advice needed and accepted.

Thanking you in advance.

Maureen

Usually it's one nights cost as the deposit, pay the rest on arrival/check out

As Sian said, usually just one night's refundable deposit is charged if you book with the hotel directly (or Disney) and with some hotel chains, all you need is to give a credit card to guarantee the room, which is not charged unless you don't show up.

I guess if you book your accommodation through someone like Expedia it might be full payment up front, but I've not used it (apart from to compare prices) so don't know.

If you go with Disney, they normally send you a flyer with the confirmation letter advertising the Mears shuttle service from the airport. Others have recommended Tiffany town car on the DIS boards, but again, I've no personal knowledge of them since we always hire a car.

You can have lots of fun going the diy route ::yes::
