Two adults will be there from April 3 to 11. Need help deciding on a hotel to stay at. We have 4 in mind but can't decide on which one.

1. Carousel Inn and Suites
2. Hyatt Regency Orange County
3. Hilton Garden Inn/Garden Grove
4. Best Western Raffles Inn

Any thought are appreciated. Thanks.

See Hydroguy's Hotel Rule (and the rest of his tips, too, they're great!): http://www.disboards.com/showthread.php?t=1520483

Your list has 3 hotels that are nicer and one that's kind of "eh". The difference is that Carousel is practically straight across the street from DL, easy walking distance-- so even though it's fairly economy-type, it will be very convenient, and for a lot of people, convenience trumps luxury, since they won't be spending that much time in the room, anyway.

Lots of people like Carousel, but there's been a few bad experiences, too. Mostly it's been reported to be clean, convenient but maybe not so good on customer service. Check all your choices on Tripadvisor.com for more reviews.

We like Howard Johnson-- walking distance but still quite nice. Even though the great Entertainment book rate is not showing as currently available for your dates: http://www.hojoanaheim.com/phpbb/viewtopic.php?f=13&t=14

Hope that helps!

I would prefer to stay at a hotel/motel that’s in walking distance, and not have to depend on shuttles.

I stayed at the Camelot Inn & Suites, which is right next to the Carousel Inn. It’s a motel. The room is very clean; they have an o.k. continental breakfast; and it’s a 6-minute walk to DL/DCA. Its sister-hotel (motel) is the Tropicana Inn; it's similar and it’s also slightly closer.

I also stayed at the Howard Johnson, and it is very good. It’s a 10-minute walk, and it doesn’t have a continental breakfast.

The Fairfield Inn is just south of the Howard Johnson, and it gets good reviews.

You might look into the Candy Cane Inn. It’s a 10-minute walk, and they are one of the few hotels/motels in the area that has a dedicated shuttle to DL/DCA. The shuttle goes to DL/DCA twice an hour, and it returns back to the hotel twice an hour. Their rooms are a little on the small side, but for 2 adults that should be o.k. And I’ve heard that they have a decent continental breakfast.

FWIW, here's a wikimapia map:

We haven't stayed at #1 or #4.

We've stayed at the the Hyatt and really like it. Good hotel but expensive breakfast and you have to pay about $15/day for parking. We usually stay there if we can get a $99 rate.

If you pay the $$$ to stay at the Hyatt, then you may as well stay at the Embassy Suites South (next door to the Hilton Garden Inn) and get the complimentary hot breakfast and free parking.

We're staying at the Hilton Garden Inn on March 13-19. We got a bed and breakfast rate of $105, plus free parking. That's a good deal. Plus it gets some good reviews on Tripadvisor. I will give it a review after the trip.

The Hyatt, HGI, and Embassy Suites are in Garden Grove and close to many restaurant options (Red Robin, Outback, Joe's Crab Shack, Buca di Beppo) and a Target to buy your bottled water.
