Hi Everybody,

New to the site and have already picked up some great advice. But one major question I am yet to obtain a decisive answer to. Im looking to book a trip for myself and my girlfriend in June 06 and have yet to find a highly reccommended hotel near to Downtown Disney that is friendly on the wallet! last year I stayed in the comfort inn lake buena vista which was fine but was looking for somewhere different and / or a website/agent to book with :earseek: Any help with this is much appreciated whether it be accommodation only or package deals.

Cheers all

Benja!

Don't know if they specifically do the LBV area but I booked my recent Universal hotel through www.onlinehotels.com - I got six nights for $230 when rack rate for those checking in was $70 - worth a look at least.

I would also go into www.tripadvisor.com and check out possible hotels in the area which rate well. You can then check the likes of exepdia, travelocity, hotels.com and also check to see if the hotel themeselves have a website you can book directly through. I haven't stayed in this area but plenty of people on here have and will no doubt be able to make helpful suggestions.

Good luck in your search.

Can't help you with off site accommodation, but Welcome to the DIS

just returned from the Country Inn and Suites in LBV. Max 10 min drive to downtown. Excellent location 15 mins max to all Disney parks and 15/20 mins to Universal free breakfast thrown in. The hotel is basic American fair nothing fancy, but we only slept there. The Sheraton Safari was next door, and you could use their pool and bar. This hotel also looked nice, but was around 200.00 more than ours, and no free breakfast. They had a large pool with slide, where as the pool in our hotel was rather small, although most of the time we were at our pool it was empty.

Staff are very friendly and the hotel is quite small. I chose it from looking at trip advisor. I would stay there again.

There is also a sizzler restuarant just in front, excellent service and good value for money, for tea we paid £17.00 for 3. Other hotels closer to Downtown, looked very nice, but they are more expensive.
