Has anyone ever "accomodated 9" in a 2BR?

According to a CM as well as in DVC Vacation Planner, some of the 2BR's can accommodate 9 but you need to provide your own "bedding". CM said that means a bed not just the linens. We will have 9 in Feb doing a split stay at SSR and BWV 2 BR lock-offs and I was wondering if anyone did this-using a an air mattress or some other suggestion. Guests will be all teems and 2 adults. This is for my DD's sweet 16.
Thanks.

Animal Kingdon Lodge - Kidani 2 bedrooms can accomodate 9 plus a child under 3, and no you don't need to provide your own bedding. Not all the DVC's can accomodate 9 in a two bedroom but for sure Kidani can.

The best place to get ideas is the DIS Occupancy Thread:

It depends on the resorts but we had 4 in a 1 bedroom at VWL, they don't have a sleeper chair there, and our DS's wont sleep together on a sleeper sofa. So we went to the local Target and picked up an inexpensive twin size air mattress and some sheets and a blanket. It worked great for us.

Personally I would have chosen one of the resorts with the extra sleep chair (OKW, AKV, BLT), or even one of the resorts with 3 bathrooms in a 2 bedroom (AKV, BLT), but since you choose the ones you did, my only suggestion would be to put 3 kids in the king bed, the 2 adults in the sleep sofa living room, and the other 4 kids in the 2nd bedroom. Of course that also all depends on the makeup of boys vs girls too! Good luck!!

We have done this in OKW with the pullout twin bed/chair, and they provided the bedding and there is so much more room there - not sure about SSR, as the living room is fairly small with the pullout couch pulled out, no room for an air mattress there except for maybe in the master bedroom, unless you have three sleeping in the king size bed. You might want to look at floor plans on the internet for each of the two bedrooms and see what is best for your group (and most comfortable and private for the adults!)

From what I have seen most people do this using an air mattress.

Thanks for the responses.

Yes. I know some resorts are actually set up to physically accommodate the 9 with the pull out chair. DD really wanted to be at the BWV or BCV for the convenience of walking to 2 of the parks. Thought about OKW but really did not want to have to rely on the bus for every place we went. Also the age of the kids makes the Boardwalk a better option as far as activities. Had to do SSr for the other half because that is all that was available, but kids love it there, so not a problem.
I am bringing daughter's friends with my family so the 5 girls can
room together in the second bedroom. I was looking for suggestions as to how anyone accommodated the extra person. I thought I would have to get an air mattress.
Wishing DVC would put a pull out chair in all 1br and 2 br.

Hope they have fun - they can't put a pull out chair because there just isn't the floor space for them in any of the ones except where they are - and OKW is right beside SSR, so same distance everywhere, and they have the boat to DTD as well, just a thought if they have availability - more Florida feel IMO (although we enjoy SSR, just less space), plus full laundry room, and a HUGE outdoor deck with table and chairs for the girls. They have tons of activities at the resort and a great pool area.

We love the accessibility BCV offers as well, but hate the buses there for the other parks - either way, they will have a great time - how nice of you to mark her 16th with this awesome trip - we did the same for our DD, but it was a Mom/daughter trip only, which we really enjoyed - happy planning!

We are going to do the exact same thing for our first few nights at Aulani too... could only get a studio for those 2 nights. So until we move to the one bedroom on day 3- DS (12) will be on a comfy air mattress. The plan is to pack it in one of our rolling carry on's so it doesnt get added to the weight of our checked luggage.

So are we officially allowed to put 9 in any 2 bedroom now, even if there aren't enough beds?

I know we can in AKV-Kidani and BLT, I just wasn't sure about the others. We're going to do a trip with 4 adults and 5 kids (a 3 year old, three 5 year olds, and a 9 year old) in the next couple year or so, and I'd love to be able to be able to book any resort.

@iluveyore-I do love OKW-I might consider that change. I think there is availability.

Golden Rose-I was always curious about the term: can accommodate 9 but you must provide your own bedding. To me that means sheets. I asked a CM at Guest Services and she said basically you can register 9 in the room it is up to you where you put them-couch cushions, 3 in a king or air mattress as well as sheets, blankets, pillows. Although there are enough pillows in the room I think I won't bring one of those..

Pam-good idea w/carry on . Don't forget the air pump!
Not sure if I will bring my own mattress or pick one up at wal-Mart when I get there. Enjoy Aulani.

AKV-too far from where we want to be. The other resorts that sleep 9 did not have the availability.

Will the GF sleep 9 also? I haven't looked into it that much.

If you can splurge on the points for a 2Br @ VGF, it won't be many more points for a Grand Villa at the more cost effective (relatively lower point) resorts!

To me, the points chart at VGF seems quite high...

As to a sleeper chair in the other resorts, there is simply not enough room to be able to open both at the same time.

Some of the sleeper sofas have cushions that don't come off - BWV and BCV. They stay attached to the bed when you open it. You'll need an air mattress there for the extra person. And where you put it is also the issue. Not always space to put that thing other than the hallway to the corridor.
