on that site I found an Accident on dudley do-rights. this is what that guy said:
THE HANDLES ARE PLACED INSIDE THE LOG, AS YOU HEAD DOWN THE FINAL DROP, YOUR BODY LIFTS, AND FOREARMS ARE SMASHED INTO THE TOP OF THE LOG. AFTER GETTING OFF THIS RIDE, I NOTICED BLOOD COARSING DOWN BOTH OF MY ARMS..THIS OBVIOUSLY HAS HAPPENED BEFORE BECAUSE THE STAFF HAD HUGE "FORARM' SIZED BANDAGES READY TO SLAP ON ME BEFORE I EVEN TOTALLY GOT OFF THE FLUME.

I really didn't want to believe it but i did. I mean log flumes a lot of people get hurt on them. i e splash mt.

Such dramatic descriptions. It might be possible to get a scrape of some sort, and if there was, rest assured it was addressed immediately. But do you honestly think that the ride operators would be armed with forearm sized bandages that they would slap on even before you got out of the log.

First, if there was any sort of injury, the Heath Services Department paramedics would respond. No one except those paramedics provides first aid of any sort. No park is going to operate an attraction that knowingly injures somone, let alone outfit the ride operators with first aid supplies.

That post is just loaded with drama. Thank goodness there's not a complete trip report.

From the description, instead of *forearm* bandages, they needed transfusion bags.

If there really were a lot of accidents occuring at UO, there'd certainly be a Baywatch sequel on T.V. already.... Parkwatch!

The operations staff at Ripsaw has never offered bandages to anyone. Guests may have in the past been scraped in the excitement of the experience of physical forces exerted during parts of the ride. Each time something of this nature is reported, our policy is to remove the ride vehicle from service and immediately perform an inspection on it. We have never determined, to date, that a vehicle had an indicated cause of injury. I have been involved with this many times and we have not found any potential dangers.

Just to be on the safe side, we spent a considerable amount of money on rehabbing the fleet of boats to eliminate any potential scratch hazard, which included replacing all attaching hardware, improving the padding and bumpers, front and rear. The program included rigorous testing and retesting until we were satisfied our instruments indicated no undue stress or shock or G-force abnormalities.

The stories are not true, and that's all.

scratch hazard......my nails digging into my hubbys arm as we go down the first hill of any coasterlike ride.
