Accidental fireworks.

Was eating by the steamboat and there was a bunch of Fireworks that went off by the castle. I’m assuming it was an accident. Hopefully nobody got hurt

This, plus after a display they fire off all launchers to get rid of any that didn't fire off when they were originally suppose to.

What time was this at?
There will be fireworks launched from the castle at approximately 11:23, 12:23, 1:23, 3:23, and 4:23
If for some reason the show does not happen as scheduled, they will still set off that shows pyro and reset for the next one

Yeah, those fireworks seem random when you aren't in front of the castle, but they do a show several times daily that ends with a short burst of fireworks. You can hear them all over the park.

Are those showtimes in a guide somewhere? I didn't see them on the showtimes listed on the Disney website that lists parades and stuff.

It should be listed as Mickey's Royal Friendship Faire. It will definitely be in the Times Guide and the shows are also posted on a sign near the castle.

Earlier this year we were in line at CRT (in the front desk part just outside the door) and they shot off a couple of rounds for whatever show was going on at the time. BOY did they startle my kids big time. I kind of got a chuckle out of it and their reaction, but to be honest it scared me a bit at first too! It is LOUD when you’re right there in/around/behind the castle!

Yes today. I’ve been to Disney World three different times and probably 5 trips to Disney land and had never seen daytime fireworks before which is why I thought it was a malfunction.

I don't know that DL does have a show during the day with fireworks.

DW has them at times but there have been times where they haven't had it. So if your past trips where when it was not being held it would explain why you didn't experience them
