Accessible Wild Africa Trek Trip Report

Thanks, this was VERY interesting to me. For one thing, I also love birds (after Disney, bird watching is my hobby). And I have severe arthritis and back issues, so I didn't even think the Wild Africa Trek was an option for me. However, I'm a little concerned about the difficulty booking it. Do I understand that it's a "regular" time/trek with a few separate items available for those unable to do what's planned versus an entirely separate tour just for those needing HA accommodations? That would make sense, sort of like "inclusion" in Public Schools (I used to be a teacher so that's how I recognize things!). Again, thanks. You really helped giving that report.

You are correct it follows the inclusive model. You are booked for one of the regular tour times then separate from the main group when they go to do the hard stuff and rejoin the group for the last part which includes the safari truck and meal. To book you just call the phone number and leave a message that you are interested in an adaptive tour and someone will eventually call you back. I very much enjoyed the tour and felt I got good value for the cost.

Thanks so much for posting this. With my son in his WC, I would have never imagined something like this would be open to us. We'll definitely have to consider this!! Do you happen to know if your group can be split? I'm thinking what you described would be perfect for my son and I, but hubby would probably enjoy the more adventurous version. I'm glad you had such a great time.

Yes they will let you split up - I asked because at one point my sister and her husband thought they might go also, then did not.h
