Hello everyone. My daughter,18 has Cerbral Palsey and uses a power wheelchair. We are going to Disney in Aug for our anual trip , celebrate her graduation and her leaving for college in the fall. We have never used the pool because I could not see a way for her to get into or out of it. In our other trips we usually went to miami first for therepy and they had a pool with a ramp, so she swam alot there. This year it is just Disney, so I wrote to Disney asking about the pool accessaibity and they emailed me back saying all three pools at pop have pool lifts. I was shocked because I have never seen them. What Im asking is if anyone has seen or used these lifts at pop and can tell me about them. Thanks so much!

i can not remember where i saw but i remember reading that lifts are avaible when requested. only out when needed so they are not played with and broken. i would talk with your resort directly.

Thank you! No one has ever told us :confused3 and we have asked numerous times. Thank you again!

On our last trip (2011) I did see a pool lift for the main? pool, the one directly behind the lobby. It appeared to be able to be placed at the pool when needed and moved when finished. It also appeared to be operated by a hand crank. I will look thru some pics and see if we managed to capture it in the background.

This is one of those things where I've found it really helpful to talk to a manager at the front desk. Sometimes the desk clerks give you a blank look but the managers usually know. I believe all the pools have to have some kind of accommodation...either zero depth entry, bump steps, or a lift.

We didn't use the pool at Pop (it was cold weather) so I can't remember what they had but I assume it's a lift. And they do keep the lifts stored away from the pool until they need them.

Have fun! Pop is great. DD thought it was very wheelchair friendly. She actually liked the accessibility there better than at the Contemporary.

Mary
