Accessibility of Poly's Beach?

My mom had a stroke 15 years ago and has limited mobility. (She is paralyzed on most of her right side, and she walks with a cane.)

We (me, dh, ds-10, dd-8, dd-6) are bringing them on vacation with us in March, but they only plan to do one day with us at Epcot. The rest of the week they will enjoy our pool home and the Florida sun.

I'd like to take them to Chef Mickey's one night so they can enjoy the grandkids and more of the Disney experience without all the intensity of the parks. I'd then like to follow up with fireworks from the beach at the Poly.

1. Do you think it is doable?
2. How hard will Poly's beach be for Mom to traverse?
3. Is there anywhere around there to sit down (a bench or chair)?

Any help you can offer would be much appreciated

The Poly beach is nice- its a few minute walk from the main building (Great Ceremonial House) on a regular concrete path. Because the pool area is right there, you should be able to grab a regular chair for her and have her sit on the concrete if thats more comfortable. There are also lounge chairs and a swing on the beach- but to get to those you'd have to walk in the sand (at least when I was there). Its probably better to sit in the typical chairs around the pool- you'll be close to the water (its a small beach) and it will be easier on her.

My DDs watch from the sidewalk along the beach. They don't miss anything by being on the sidewalk instead of in the sand.

I agree that it would be easy to pull a chair from the pool area over for her.
