We’ve stayed in a 1-bd at OKW in the past and were able to be on a ground floor (we have an ECV user). This trip were possible going with more family and are considering a 2-bd at OKW but don’t know if they have any ground floor 2-bd villas? I know there are a few buildings that have elevator access but know the odds are tough to get one of thiose. Anyone with experience? I also posted this over in the DVC section 😁

There are also some 2 bedroom units in buildings with elevators. Just make it clear when you call that the request is for accessibility/medical needs and they will do their best to prioritize it. And if when you show up they haven't honored the request, politely explain the situation at the front desk. It is best if you already have the ECV when going to the front desk.

There was a poster fairly recently who did NOT get their "first floor" request granted. I'm pretty sure it was within the past year or so. So yes you can make a request and be lenient about waiting for a new room, but ultimately it's not guaranteed and you should have a "plan B" if that occurs.

Yes, I remember that and that was the final "blow" that convinced me to start reserving HA villas to be sure of getting the first floor or elevator. Some one brought up a good point-as the average age of the OKW DVC owner increases (and remember OKW was the first DVC resort), more and more guests need that first floor.

I did notice when I was looking again there is a specific wc accessible two-br category. Now if I can just get the joining family members to make up their minds on where they want to stay 😂
